Like the desktop app, the Design tab in PowerPoint Online provides access to themes, background and slide size adjustment options, and theme variants to help you design your slides.

Adding Content

The Insert tab provides all the necessary options to add new slides, tables, pictures, shapes, icons, SmartArt, text boxes, audio, video, cameo to insert Live camera feed, and other options. 

Formatting Pictures

Like the desktop version of PowerPoint, pictures can be added from your device, stock images, or via Bing search. The Picture tab can be used to format added pictures after selecting them. Various options in this tab allow you to crop, add a picture frame, and adjust the picture on the slide.

You can also access Format Options via the right-click menu.

This will open a sidebar providing options to adjust the selected image’s width, height, angle, shadow, reflection, and text margins.

Formatting Videos

PowerPoint for the web allows formatting videos via the Shape tab and Format Options via the right-click menu. The Shape tab can give a frame or shape to the video, adjust the outline, manage how it is displayed on the slide, and adjust the size of the video. Sometimes, the Shape tab might be replaced with the Video tab to show editing options. This change is particularly visible if the user is not logged in and is editing the presentation as a Guest user. The Format Options enable editing the video’s width, height, angle, text margins, shadow, and reflection.

Formatting Audio

Two major options for formatting added audio clips include the Playback tab and Audio Format tab. The Playback tab can adjust the volume, playback trigger, and other related options.

The Audio Format tab includes picture styles for the audio icon, border stylizing, rotation, and other formatting options to adjust how the audio clip appears on the slide.

Annotation Options

The Draw tab gives various tools like pens and highlighters to annotate slides or draw on the screen. Other tools include an eraser, lasso, draw with touch, and stencil.

Transitions and Animations

Like the desktop version of PowerPoint, the Transitions tab for the web version gives transitions to use for your slides. You can adjust the effects of added transitions and duration once you have added a transition for a slide.

The Animations tab can be used to apply standard transitions and adjust effects, triggers, and duration for the animations according to need.

SlideShow, Review, and View

The SlideShow tab is used to start the SlideShow from the beginning of the current slide or to initiate a Live presentation with a QR code and link for viewing the presentation Live. Most PowerPoint users know that the viewing options are available at the bottom of the PowerPoint interface. However, you can also access them from the View tab in PowerPoint. The same features are available for PowerPoint for the web. This includes options like switching between Slide Sorter, Immersive Reader, and Normal View and access to Notes, Zoom, and Fit to Window options.

To share your PowerPoint presentation, click Share from the top left corner of PowerPoint Online. You can create a sharing link according to specific settings, copy the existing link, link to a slide, or view and manage access to the presentation.

Collaborators can be invited via email or link by adjusting whether a user has view-only or editing privileges.

Once the settings have been configured, a link can be generated to copy and share with users. When configuring settings, you can also directly send the link with a message to an end user.

Users collaborating on the slide deck with their names are shown at the top. A generic name is assigned to the collaborator if it’s a guest.

You can see the comments added by collaborators on the presentation by going to Comments.

Next to the Comments button is the Catch-up button that tracks and shows the changes made by real-time collaborators as you work on the presentation.

You can also access sharing options via File -> Share . You can open sharing options or generate an embed code for the presentation from here.

When generating an embed code, you can adjust the width, height, and slide advancement options and generate a code for a website.

To switch between viewing modes, you can change to view only and editing options as you collaborate or open the presentation in the desktop app. These options can be helpful for you to adjust how you wish to work or review the presentation.

To save your presentation, go to File -> SaveAs to save a copy to OneDrive, download a copy of the PowerPoint presentation, rename the file, or download the file in an alternative format such as PDF, ODP, or image.

When saving a copy of the presentation on OneDrive, you can select an existing folder or create a new one to select the file location.

Welcome back to Gridiron Notes, your home for news and updates for Madden NFL 25. Our team will be here sharing information all summer long as we gear up for worldwide launch on August 16th. You can expect to see future Deep Dives about topics like Gameplay, Franchise and Presentation, Superstar, Ultimate Team, and more. 

Today, we are covering the high-level features in Madden NFL 25. Before we get into specifics, our team wanted to share the vision for the game this year. 

Bottom line, the goal for Madden NFL 25 is to “look, feel and sound different”. From the first time you fire it up at the “press start” screen, to the menus, to new commentary and inside the game from the NFL Draft all the way to the Super Bowl Trophy Presentation, this was the commitment from the team. We can’t wait to share more with you in future deep dives coming later this summer.

Here at our Tiburon studio, we know what’s most important to players, and that’s a deep, authentic experience delivering control on the sticks. With this year’s feature set, which includes Physics-Based Tackling powered by BOOM Tech, Signature styles, new mechanics with ball carriers, catching and pre-play, and a focus on football fundamentals within blocking, playbooks, and more, players will have more control than ever before in Madden NFL 25.

In Madden NFL 23, the team introduced the FieldSENSE animation-branching system to deliver on control, rather than outcomes that feel more scripted or pre-determined. This year in Madden NFL 25, that vision is being accelerated with the introduction of BOOM Tech, our next gameplay innovation that has been over two years in the making. The features that make up the BOOM Tech gameplay package are:  

Physics-Based Tackling

Feel realistic control with every tackle, so you can cut loose and attack the ball with powerful Hit Sticks, Cut Sticks, trucks, dives, and stiff arms. The new data-driven physics system considers timing, momentum, weight, speed, strength, and player ratings to inform 1-on-1 ball carrier impact and determine the branching animation to a wider variety of explosive and authentic physical outcomes while keeping players in full control. (PS5®, XBOX Series X|S, and PC only)

Reloaded Hit Stick

The one. The only. The legendary Hit Stick has been refreshed, reloaded, and reimagined to celebrate 20 years as a Madden NFL feature. Bring power in every phase of the game with a timing-based mechanic that provides harder-hitting control determined by angle of impact, stick-skill, and accuracy for cut sticks, big hits, and trucks, with more realistic physical movements and results. Get immediate on-field feedback with visual indicators, new impactful tackle sound effects, and controller rumble haptics (where applicable). (PS5®, XBOX Series X|S, and PC only)

Ball Carrier Control

Run the rock with confidence and command. A new Ball Carrier Balance and Recovery System determines a specific BOOM Tech branching animation based on the quality of the hit and the ratings of the players involved. Get the control you need to counter the Hit Stick, break the tackle, and recover your balance. (PS5®, XBOX Series X|S, and PC only)

Foundational Football

Core gameplay is back with the newest iteration of FieldSENSE™; get increased control across key areas including innovated passing, catching, blocking, and coverages, along with advanced ball carrier mechanics for more dynamic and realistic playmaking. New playbooks capture the game’s most inventive and explosive plays to align with today’s NFL play styles for a wider variety of viable game plans and more strategy in all three phases. Authentic pre-snap and post-play animations deliver a whole new level of authenticity and immersion, while all-new intelligent ball carrier mechanics provide explosive movement and more control between downs. We can’t wait to dive deep into gameplay next to expand on all the new upgrades.

Earlier we mentioned the team’s focus on ensuring that Madden NFL 25 looks, feels, and sounds different. The delivery of these features comes down to one huge team focus: Immersion.

Franchise mode is revamped and recharged with features that build on the realism and immersion:

See inside team war rooms and green rooms as the night progresses, then meet Roger Goodell on a new NFL Draft stage in a fresh fit that suits you. 
• Manage personalities through dynamic storylines in team meeting rooms, coach’s offices, press conferences, and practice sidelines.
• Franchise Central provides simplified league creation tools and delivers more important information at your fingertips, including personal messages and top stories that make your Franchise experience feel more like the NFL in every moment.

Introducing Team Builder: design your own team using the customization tools available on the Team Builder website*. Upload your own logos and personalize your team uniforms, helmets and field. Once created, import your team into your Franchise and dominate for Super Bowl glory. Share your creations or explore the download center for other teams created by the community. Presentation Overview

New broadcast teams and commentary add to the most immersive audio experience in years. We’ve added crowd audio sourced from the 2023 NFL season’s Monday Night Football games and NFL films, so it doesn’t just feel like realistic crowd noise–it is real crowd noise. On-field sound effects have been increased and refreshed (pad collisions, grunts, exertions, etc.) to now include over 500 samples.

New pregame montages in Superstar and Ultimate Team™ focus more on your players and their storylines. Reenergized environments and camera angles bring an upgraded perspective from kick off to Super Bowl celebrations. Did we mention a new scorebug at the bottom of the screen?

Commentary Teams

Play-by-play never sounded so good. Two new teams join the booth to accompany Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis for the first time in eight years. Mike Tirico and former NFL TE Greg Olsen are paired up, along with Kate Scott and former NFL QB Brock Huard. These new teams are here to refresh your Madden NFL experience and bring it to life with over 42,000 fresh recordings at launch, with multiple in-season updates to keep it fresh. (New commentary on PS5®, XBOX Series X|S, and PC only)

Live Game Modes

Whether you like to team up with friends, go solo, or take on the best competition, there is a Madden NFL mode for you. Last season, the addition of Crossplay made these modes even more accessible. With the addition of Crossplay to Franchise last holiday season, all the top modes are now compatible in Madden NFL 25. 

These experiences have fresh new ways to play in Madden NFL 25 and are constantly being updated all season long. For you, that means new rewards, feature releases, themed programs, and the ability to customize your style and skills in Superstar. Build a dominant roster from current and former NFL legends in Madden Ultimate Team™, utilize regularly updated team playbooks (or stick with Launch Playbooks). Jump into Superstar The League and Superstar Showdown to play and progress your avatar with new, unique mini games, limited-time events, and challenges.

Ultimate Team

Build your dream football roster in more ways than ever and utilize new customization options for your powerhouse team of NFL Superstars and NFL Legends. 

In Madden NFL 25 Ultimate Team, winning matters more than ever. With the new Head to Head Ranked mode, only wins can improve your rank. Earning Rank Points will move you up or down Divisions with not only a new level of competition, but a new level of rewards. Win games, earn rewards, rise through the ranks all the way to the Legends Division, an exclusive level of competition reserved for the top 100 Ultimate Team players.

In Solo Seasons, players can play full games against AI opponents of escalating difficulty to progress from the regular seasons, into the playoffs and all the way to the Super Bowl. Providing an endless challenge, solo players can play as much as they want without waiting for the next content update. 

Although, with more seasons than ever in Madden NFL 25, players will never have to wait long for new content. As the NFL season progresses, Ultimate Team will be updated with new, relevant, and responsive content. Even after the Super Bowl, Ultimate Team will still have a full slate of content updates all the way up to the launch of Madden NFL 26.

6-on-6 Live Events will bring small-sided football into Madden NFL Ultimate Team. For the first time ever, players can take their Ultimate Team squad into 6-on-6 matchups. With fewer players on the field, your roster strategy and game plan can be completely different. 

In addition to new ways to compete, the Ultimate Team lineup screen has received a complete overhaul to further streamline the management of your roster. Most modern courses incorporate a mix of videos, webinar recordings, PDFs, slideshows, podcasts, and quizzes, all of which can be uploaded directly into a learning management system (LMS) of your choosing.

Consider this: Creating an online course for the sake of it isn’t the answer to driving some quick revenue. To begin the process, you’ll have to decide what experience and skills you have to offer your peers and potential customers. Is it valuable? Will your audience learn something new? These are the important questions to ask yourself before you get started. 

Bruno De Figueredo Co-founder and Head of Technology at Level Up Creators shared his advice for those just starting with course creation:

“There’s this misconception that a launch needs to make a big splash with tons of sales right off the bat, which often leads to neglecting long-term funnel strategies. Creators and online educators also tend to overlook lead magnets or other “taster” content that can draw users toward a purchase (including regular newsletters). Lead magnets should be used as a sign of interest from the user, which can then be followed up with a tailored email sequence to nudge them towards conversion and buying the course. The first three steps of the course creation process have to do with planning. Let’s take a look.

Choosing the perfect course topic for an online course is crucial for several reasons:

Market demand: Assessing demand ensures a genuine need and interest in the topic you plan to teach, directly impacting the course’s success. By understanding market demand, you can tailor your content to meet the needs and preferences of your target audience , increasing the likelihood of attracting and retaining students. It also helps identify gaps in the market where your course can stand out, leading to better enrollment rates and return on investment.

Expertise and credibility: Having expertise and credibility is key because it means your content will be solid, useful, and trustworthy, which helps attract and keep students. When you really know your stuff, you can share deep insights, practical tips, and solid advice that make the learning experience great. Plus, when people trust you, they’re more likely to sign up for your course and spread the word to others. It also helps you stand out from the crowd and positions you as a go-to expert in your field, opening doors to more opportunities. Once you’ve got a sense of what they’re into, dive deeper into their needs and goals. Chat with them directly through comments or emails to understand their challenges and what they hope to achieve by taking your course.

By doing this customer research allows you to:

• Understand their pain points: The course you create should aim to help solve a problem, provide the target audience with the knowledge they need to solve it on their own, and help them learn something in a consolidated manner (so they can get the information faster than they would by traditional means). To do this, you need to fully understand the potential pain points your learners are facing and how to lay the solution out simply. 
• Have an idea of what potential students want to achieve: Every learner will be different but in this case, when they opt into your course, every learner wants to gain knowledge and solve a specific problem. To discover what people are interested in achieving, go out and speak to them, asking questions that will help you structure your course.
• Know how to sell to them and others: Every online course has a target audience. The truth is, you need to know how to market to that audience because everyone outside of that group probably won’t be interested. To create the right messaging for your audience, you can outline your “ ideal customer .” Consider their age, background, and why they’re interested in your topic. Use this understanding to shape your course content and how you present it. Being in tune with your audience helps you create a course that really hits the mark and makes students feel like you get them. 

Going a step further, you can conduct user research on platforms like Reddit, Quora, and even Google Trends. Reddit and Quora are conversation-based sites where you can easily browse threads that may give you some inspiration for course content. Google Trends is useful for searching for topical keywords around the topic of your choice to understand if interest is on the rise with users all around the world.

Once you know your target audience, creating an online course will be ten times easier.

Conduct extensive research on your course topic

Now that you’ve identified who you’ll be creating this online course content for, you’re ready to begin researching the course topic. As a subject matter expert creating an online course, you probably already have all the course material floating around in your brain, but it’s good to brush up on the latest developments and trends.

If you need a kickstart, reference academic journals, industry reports, and reputable websites to gather solid info and data. Take notes on key findings and jot down any new insights that catch your eye. Remember that your course should offer insights beyond what people can find from a simple Google search. Go deeper and reach out to your network of fellow experts or colleagues. They can provide different perspectives or share their experiences, which can really enrich your course content.

Don’t forget about your own experiences and case studies you’ve worked on. These real-life examples can bring your course to life and show students how the theory applies in the real world. By blending all these sources together, you’ll create a course that’s not only packed with knowledge but also practical and engaging for your students.

Phase 2: Create

The next four steps of the course creation process have to do with creating your course. There’s a lot to cover so let’s get into it.

Outline your course

Writing an online course outline involves several key steps to ensure clarity, coherence, and effectiveness in delivering content to your students. The very first thing you should do once you’ve chosen your topic and done extensive research is outline the learning objectives. These are like value props and explain in simple terms what the student will gain from taking your course. They should be communicated upfront, at the start of the course, and especially in any promotional posts that go out on social platforms. 

They usually look like this: 

Learning objectives should be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). These objectives will guide the structure and content of your course. Once you’ve done this, you’ll have the overarching goals outlined, which will help you complete and structure the rest of your course.

While every online course outline will look a little different, here’s a straightforward approach that will help you begin to create one:

• Divide into modules or sections: Break down the course content into logical modules or sections. Each module should cover a specific sub-topic or theme related to your overall learning objectives. Think about how the content naturally flows and how students will progress through the material.
• Outline module content: For each module, outline the key topics, concepts, or skills that will be covered. Start with an introductory section to provide context and outline what students will learn. Then, list the main content sections or lessons within the module.
• Organize lessons: Within each module, organize the lessons in a sequential order that makes sense for learning progression. Consider how each lesson builds upon previous ones and prepares students for upcoming content. Outline each lesson’s main points, examples, activities, or exercises.
• Include assessments and activities: Integrate assessments or activities throughout the outline to check student understanding and reinforce learning. This could include quizzes, assignments, discussions, or practical exercises that apply the knowledge learned.
• Add resources and materials: Identify any additional resources or materials students may need, such as readings, videos, case studies, or external links. Include these in the outline to supplement the main course content and provide further depth.
• Finalize and structure: Finalize your outline by structuring it into a clear format that students can easily navigate. Use headings, subheadings, and bullet points to make it visually organized and accessible. This structured outline will serve as your roadmap for creating each lesson and assembling your course content.

Here’s a simple example of an online course outline if you’re just getting started. Online courses don’t always have to be super lengthy. You can always break up each course so they’re more bite-sized and easy to manage for the busy professional.

By following these steps, you can create a well-organized and effective online course outline that sets a solid foundation for designing and developing engaging content for your potential customers.

Choosing a course format

As we just mentioned, courses come in different shapes and sizes. Some will be longer and more extensive, while others are shorter and contain insights the student can quickly take action on. The format you choose will determine how you go about marketing it to potential customers, the amount of content you can pack into one lesson, and the prices you can set. 

There are a few different types of online courses. These are:

• Mini-course
• Multi-day course
• Masterclass

Each type of course will offer unique learnings and be formatted differently. Whether you teach through video content, online learning modules, lectures, quizzes, or articles, consider your audience and how they like to engage with content online.
