Speech On Energy Conservation [1,2,3 Minutes]Energy is indispensable for life on Earth. It is needed for the growth of agriculture, industry, transport and communication etc. We use to perform various tasks such as running machines, cooking food etc. Unfortunately, we are currently dependent on conventional energy sources which are exhaustible. 1 to 2 Minute Speech On Energy ConservationBefore I deliver my speech I would like to wish you all the best wishes & I also want to thank you a lot for having me a chance to share my views on this important topic i.e. Energy Conservation. Today, we are surrounded by a lot of tools, gadgets, and technologies which make our daily lives much easier. For example; vehicles help us cover distances in less time, washing machine helps us to wash our clothes, and microwave oven helps us quickly prepare food. All of these tools, gadgets and technologies do not work for free. They need the required power supply to work. This power is generated through various methods which involve the burning of conventional energy sources such as coal, petroleum, natural gas, electricity etc. These sources of energy are called non-renewable sources of energy because they are present in limited quantities. For this reason, there is a need to use energy in an efficient way or conserve energy by using these services as less as possible. It will help us in sustainable development. Another reason for energy conservation is environmental protection. The burning of many fossil fuels such as petroleum and coal produces a lot of pollution which is neither good for the environment nor for human health. So, everyone should contribute his effort to conserve energy. In short, energy conservation is the need of the hour. Every individual can help conserve energy by adopting simple habits such as using a bicycle for short distances, switching off home appliances when not in use, and making others aware of the same. Thank you! 3-Minute Speech On Energy ConservationI cordially welcome all of you gathered here. I am here to speak a few words on Energy Conservation. Before I start my speech, I would like to wish you a good day. Also, I want to thank you for having me this valuable opportunity. Newton’s first law states that every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force . It means we need to put effort to perform any task in the universe and this effort will require energy. Without using energy no task can be accomplished. From cooking food to running heavy machinery. every important thing is executed with the help of energy. Hence, energy is the most required thing for running the world smoothly. Today, we have two types of energy sources i.e. conventional and non-conventional. Conventional energy sources are generally non-renewable sources of energy. For a long time, these sources of energy are extensively being used in a manner that their known reserves have been depleted to a great extent. If it continues we will soon face a scarcity of energy and hence we will not witness sustainable development on the planet. Apart from this, the excessive use of fossil fuels contaminates the environment, which is not good for our health too. This is why energy conservation is the need of the hour. It can be done in two ways. One, we reduce the use of services that involve the use of energy. Number two, we learn to use energy efficiently. On the one hand, scientists and researchers are finding ways to reduce energy consumption. On the other hand, individuals are busy with greater energy consumption so that they can feed their comfort. Energy conservation is not possible until the general public understands their responsibility. Every individual can help conserve energy by adopting simple habits such as using a bicycle for short distances, switching off home appliances when not in use, and making others aware of the same. Most importantly, we must search for energy-efficient products in the market. Energy-efficient products are quite expensive but they are worth it because not only will they save energy but they also help you save money on bills. At last, I want to ask you all a question. Do you want a comfortable life for yourself or for future generations? Most of you will want to do both. So, save energy at least for your future generation. This is all that I wanted to say. I hope you like my words. Thank you! Speech on Save Water for Students and ChildrenSpeech on save water. A hearty welcome to all the teachers and students present in the auditorium. I am here to convey a speech on Save Water. We all know that water is the most useful resource on Earth. Also, we all are aware of its immense uses. We cannot imagine our lives without water. Moreover, we use water for household, agricultural, industrial, recreational and other purposes. Also, it is used for environmental purposes. Although, 70% of the Earth’s Surface is covered by water, yet, only 1% of freshwater is available for drinking. Most of our household tasks cannot be completed without water. Also, in industries, it is used for the preparation of goods and products. Furthermore, it assists in transportation too. Despite its importance, we are facing deterioration in water resources. Although, it is a natural resource, yet we need to conserve the same. We need to save water for the development to take place in a sustainable manner. We must understand that it is the basis of humanity. Our earth is green because of water. There are many places facing the problem of water scarcity. Thus, we must take effective steps for the conservation of water. Importance of Water in LifeWater is an indispensable component of life. We cannot survive without water. The human body comprises of a huge amount of water. Thus, human beings and animals need much water to drink. Also, plants need water to grow. From drinking to cooking to everything, we need water. We need safe water for all our organs to function properly. Moreover, we can preserve our environment by saving water. An excellent example of this is the use of water to produce electricity. The use of hydropower or hydroelectricity helps in controlling pollution. Furthermore, it prevents the burning of fossil fuels, coal, etc. for producing electricity. Also, it is essential for maintaining the Earth’s temperature. The human body is made up of a huge amount of water. Thus, human beings and animals need much water to drink. Also, plants need water to grow. From drinking to cooking to everything, we need water. Get the Huge List of 100+ Speech Topics here How to Save Water?Water is the most precious component needed for food and life. All human beings, animals and plants have a requirement of water. Thus, we need to conserve water resources. To conserve or decrease the polluting factors, we must be aware of the factors that lead to its deterioration. Then, we must take some valuable steps. These include turning off the taps, cut down meat-eating and dairy. Also, we must check for water leakage from hand pumps, shower less to save water. Moreover, we must have a pond to use water. Furthermore, the dumping of sewage and toxins into water bodies is a major reason for water pollution. Moreover, fertilizers require a huge amount of water. Thus, we must minimize the use of fertilizers in the fields. Also, we must check for soil erosion by planting trees. We need water for thousand of tasks in our lives. It provides beauty to nature and maintains the environmental balance. Since it is the basis of our survival and development we should not misuse it. We must use wisely this sacred gift of nature. We should teach the society by conducting awareness programs. Also, we must use modern techniques for farming. Moreover, watersheds help to conserve rainwater. We must try to educate our children about the importance of water. Its education must be provided at schools, colleges, etc. Also, through media, this purpose can be achieved. Although water is a natural resource available in abundance, it doesn’t mean we can misuse it. It is not a single person’s responsibility to conserve water. We could avoid the wastage of water only by joining hands. Customize your course in 30 secondsWhich class are you in. Speech for Students- Speech on India for Students and Children

Required fields are marked * Download the AppLet’s Talk About Trump’s GibberishWhat the former president’s shark tirade says about American politics and media Listen to this article Produced by ElevenLabs and News Over Audio (NOA) using AI narration. Sign up for The Decision , a newsletter featuring our 2024 election coverage. Perhaps the greatest trick Donald Trump ever pulled was convincing millions of people—and the American media—to treat his lapses into fantasies and gibberish as a normal, meaningful form of oratory. But Trump is not a normal person, and his speeches are not normal political events. For too long, Trump has gotten away with pretending that his emotional issues are just part of some offbeat New York charm or an expression of his enthusiasm for public performance. But Trump is obviously unfit—and something is profoundly wrong with a political environment in which he can now say almost anything, no matter how weird, and his comments will get a couple of days of coverage and then a shrug, as if to say: Another day, another Trump rant about sharks . Wait, what? Yes, sharks. In Las Vegas on Sunday, Trump went off-script—I have to assume that no competent speechwriter would have drafted this—and riffed on the important question of how to electrocute a shark while one attacks. He had been talking, he claims, to someone about electric boats: “I say, ‘What would happen if the boat sank from its weight and you’re in the boat, and you have this tremendously powerful battery, and the battery’s now underwater, and there’s a shark that’s approximately 10 yards over there?’” Read: Trump rants about sharks and everyone just pretends it’s normal As usual, Trump noted how much he impressed his interlocutor with his very smart hypothetical: “And he said, ‘Nobody ever asks this question,’ and it must be because of MIT, my relationship to MIT. Very smart.” (MIT? Trump’s uncle taught there and retired over a half century ago, when Trump was in his 20s, and died in 1985. Trump often implies that his uncle passed on MIT’s brainpower by genetic osmosis or something.) This ramble went on for a bit longer, until Trump made it clear that given his choice, he’d rather be zapped instead of eaten: “But you know what I’d do if there was a shark or you get electrocuted? I’ll take electrocution every single time. I’m not getting near the shark. So we’re going to end that, we’re going to end it for boats, we’re going to end it for trucks.” Hopefully, this puts to rest any pressing questions among Americans about the presumptive Republican nominee’s feelings on electric vehicles and their relationship to at least two gruesome ways to die. Sure, it seems funny— Haha! Uncle Don is telling that crazy shark story again! —until we remember that this man wants to return to a position where he would hold America’s secrets, be responsible for the execution of our laws, and preside as the commander in chief of the most powerful military in the world. A moment that seems like oddball humor should, in fact, terrify any American voter, because this behavior in anyone else would be an instant disqualification for any political office, let alone the presidency. (Actually, a delusional, rambling felon known to have owned weapons would likely fail a security check for even a visit to the Oval Office.) Nor was the Vegas monologue the first time: Trump for years has fallen off one verbal cliff after another, with barely a ripple in the national consciousness. I am not a psychiatrist, and I am not diagnosing Trump with anything. I am, however, a man who has lived on this Earth for more than 60 years, and I know someone who has serious emotional problems when I see them played out in front of me, over and over . The 45th president is a disturbed person. He cannot be trusted with any position of responsibility—and especially not with a nuclear arsenal of more than 1,500 weapons. One wrong move could lead to global incineration. Why hasn’t there been more sustained and serious attention paid to Trump’s emotional state? First, Trump’s target audience is used to him. Watch the silence that descends over the crowds at such moments; when Trump wanders off into the recesses of his own mind, they chit-chat or check their phones or look around, waiting for him to come back and offer them an applause line. For them, it’s all just part of the show. George T. Conway III: Unfit for office Second, Trump’s staff tries to put just enough policy fiber into Trump’s nutty verbal soufflés that they can always sell a talking point later, as if his off-ramps from reality are merely tiny bumps in otherwise sensible speeches. Trump himself occasionally seems surprised when these policy nuggets pop up in a speech; when reading the teleprompter, he sometimes adds comments such as “so true, so true,” perhaps because he’s encountering someone else’s words for the first time and agreeing with them. Thus, they will later claim that questions about sharks or long-dead uncles are just bad-faith distractions from substance. (These are the same Republicans who claim that every verbal stumble from Joe Biden indicates full-blown dementia.) Third, and perhaps most concerning in terms of public discussion, many people in the media have fallen under the spell of the Jedi hand-waves from Trump and his people that none of this is as disturbing and weird as it sounds. The refs have been worked: A significant segment of the media—and even the Democratic Party—has bought into a Republican narrative that asking whether Trump is mentally unstable is somehow biased and elitist, the kind of thing that could only occur to Beltway mandarins who don’t understand how the candidate talks to normal people. Such objections are mendacious nonsense and represent a massive double standard. As Eugene Robinson of The Washington Post wrote today: “It is irresponsible to obsess over President Biden’s tendency to mangle a couple of words in a speech while Donald Trump is out there sounding detached from reality.” Biden’s mush-mouthed moments fall well within the range of normal gaffes. Had he or any other American politician said anything even remotely like one of Trump’s bizarre digressions, we’d be flooded with front-page stories about it. Pundits would be solemnly calling for a Much Needed National Conversation about the Twenty-Fifth Amendment. It is long past time for anyone who isn’t in the Trump base to admit, and to keep talking about, something that has been obvious for years: Donald Trump is unstable. Some of these problems were evident when he first ran, and we now know from revelations by many of his former staff that his problems processing information and staying tethered to reality are not part of some hammy act. Worse, the people who once managed Trump’s cognitive and emotional issues are gone, never to return. A second Trump White House will be staffed with the bottom of the barrel—the opportunists and hangers-on willing to work for a reprehensible man. His Oval Office will be empty of responsible and experienced public servants if the day comes when someone has to explain to him why war might be about to erupt on the Korean peninsula or why the Russian or Chinese nuclear forces have gone on alert, and he starts talking about frying sharks with boat batteries. Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission. Desperate Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) enlisted heavy artillery from his party’s progressive wing for a weekend rally in the Bronx to try to shore up his flailing re-election bid — but viral clips of the event’s cringey on-stage antics show the last-ditch effort backfired badly. Footage from Saturday’s campaign rally at St. Mary’s Park in Mott Haven showed the severely struggling incumbent and fellow “Squad’ member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) acting like buffoons on the stage, gifting the internet with heaps of unintentional humor. AOC kicked things off by stomping around on stage to a blaring Cardi B song, appearing to try to summon the pomp of a superstar rapper about to perform her biggest hit to an adoring crowd. “Hoes better lower they tone when they spittin’. Bitches is washed, soap on the dishes. I apply pressure like boa constrictors,” X-rated lyrics from the Cardi B song “Enough” pumped over the PA system as the congresswoman from New York City continued her gyrations. “One bitch, two bitch, old bitch, new bitch. None of y’all bitches not gon’ do s–t,” the Grammy winner’s lyrics continued. Ocasio-Cortez bounded around waving her fists and roughly removing her hair tie before accosting the podium, shaking it so vigorously that she briefly knocked over her microphones . “Are you ready to take the country back?!” the far-left House member shrieked to about 300 onlookers, a modest-size crowd given the fact that her party has controlled the White House and Senate for the past four years. The rally was a last-minute attempt to gin up support for Bowman ahead of Tuesday’s primary election, in which the two-term rep trails moderate Democratic challenger George Latimer by double digits in the district covering southern Westchester County and a portion of the Bronx. Bowman is in very real danger of losing his seat after numerous controversies and oddball statements . Not to be outdone by AOC, other footage showed Bowman, the sleeves of his yellow T-shirt rolled up, grabbing a stool from the Bronx rally stage, waving it in the air and slamming it down while leading the crowd in a chant of “Cease-fire now!” in video shared on X by Freedomnews.tv . Another clip showed the besieged congressman doing windmills with his arms to rally the crowd, jumping up and down, before bellowing, “We gonna show them who the f–k we are!” to raucous applause. “We are gonna show f–king AIPAC the power of the motherf–king South Bronx,” the potty-mouthed congressman said, referring to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, in another clip circulating online. In yet another bizarre moment, Bowman led the crowd in a chant of his own name, thundering, “Bowman! Bowman!” into the microphone and nodding in approval as people joined in. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) was also in attendance but was considerably more measured in his remarks, calling Tuesday’s primary “one of the most important” elections in modern American history. Footage of the unhinged behavior by the New York pols — who are infamously part of a group of far-left House members called “the Squad” — was ripped by some local leaders. “The level of profanity here is so shocking as to be unbecoming of a Member of Congress,” Bronx Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY), who has been feuding with Bowman over Israel, wrote on X. “There is nothing in Jamaal Bowman’s unhinged tirade that remotely resembles the decency of the people I know and represent in the South Bronx,” Torres said. The shameful event also made the rounds online, garnering millions of views and thousands of derisive comments. “I think she took a bit too much of whatever they give Biden before events,” one X user mused about AOC’s performative enthusiasm on a video shared by journalist Collin Rugg and viewed nearly 5 million times. Another person wrote, “Their futures are all in jeopardy, that’s why they appear to be panicked. “Time is slipping away fast.” Additional reporting by Carl Campanile Share this article:Advertisement How IBM helps Wimbledon use generative AI to drive personalised fan engagementThis collaboration with Wimbledon teams extends beyond the fan-facing digital platform, into enterprise-wide transformation. Ask a question or make a commentThat brings an end to our live updates on the conflict in Ukraine for this evening. We'll bring you any major updates overnight. In the meantime, you can scroll through the blog below to catch up on the day's developments. Vladimir Putin today held a phone call with the interim president of Iran, Mohammad Mokhber, the Kremlin has said. The Russian president and Mokhber discussed "mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in all key areas", including energy and "large-scale infrastructure projects". Russian energy giant Gazprom announced earlier today the signing of a memorandum with the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) to supply Russian pipeline gas to Iran. As many football fans will be aware, the Ukrainian men's national team have been playing against Belgium in a crucial match in the European Championship in Germany. Soldiers in the Donetsk region have been taking a break from the conflict there to watch the match in Stuttgart - where Belgium supporters rose to applaud as the Ukrainian national anthem was played before kick off. Ukraine must win the game or hope there is a winner in the match being played simultaneously between Romania and Slovakia (or a win for Slovakia if Ukraine lose) if they are to qualify for the knock-out stages of the tournament. The United Nations Security Council has condemned a deadly attack that targeted churches and synagogues in Dagestan. Twenty people were killed, most of them police officers, during the attack on Sunday. Five gunmen were also killed, while at least 46 people were taken to hospital with injuries in the predominantly Muslim region. The statement from the UN Security Council said: "The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the heinous and cowardly terrorist." Russian pranksters have released footage of David Cameron being tricked into thinking he was speaking to a former Ukrainian president. The Foreign Office (FCDO) announced at the start of June that a "number of text messages were exchanged followed by a brief video call" between Lord Cameron and someone who claimed to be Petro Poroshenko. In the casual video call published by website Guido Fawkes, Lord Cameron discusses Labour, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine with someone purporting to be Petro Poroshenko. Mr Poroshenko was Ukrainian president between 2014 and 2019, and has remained a prominent figure in the country since leaving office. Earlier this month, the UK Government made the hoax call public knowledge to stave off any attempts to manipulate video footage of the former prime minister from the communications. Asked by the imposter if he believes anything will change after the general election, Lord Cameron says Labour has been "as enthusiastic" in their support for Ukraine as the Conservatives. He said: "I don't think you'll see change. Obviously if they win it will be a new government, there will be some getting up to speed on some issues, but I think fundamentally they've supported everything we've done. "I think the Labour Party, if they win, will continue that approach." Asked about his engagement with former US president and current presidential candidate Mr Trump, Lord Cameron says the Republican would want to "back the winning side" in Ukraine but his attitude is "hard to predict". He says: "I had dinner with (Trump) and my aim was to convince him not to block money for Ukraine, because obviously the speaker, Mike Johnson, wanted two things: he wanted to vote the money for Ukraine but he also wanted to keep his job, and I thought it was important to try to make sure that Trump backed him sufficiently to do that, which is what happened in the end." He adds: "I think ultimately (Trump) will calculate at the time what's right for him. "I think the key thing is if we can make sure that Ukraine is on the front foot and Putin is on the back foot by November, then he will want to support the winning side, as it were, and that's what we've got to ensure. "It's hard to predict exactly what his attitude will be but that's the most important thing." Elsewhere in the video, the imposter can be heard saying that not sending Ukraine an invitation to Nato is a "bad signal". In response, Lord Cameron says: "There's not going to be an invitation because America won't support one. "So what I've said to the president, (Volodymyr) Zelenskyy, is: let's try and get the best language we can about Nato support for Ukraine. But don't, let's not, we mustn't have an argument between Nato and Ukraine before the summit." Later in the video, Lord Cameron discloses a conversation he had with Kazakhstan's foreign secretary Murat Nurtleu during a visit to the country earlier this year. Lord Cameron says: "Kazakhstan are convinced that Putin wants a slice of the north of Kazakhstan. "(Nurtleu) said Ukrainians are dying for Kazakhstan, they are putting their lives at risk to hold back Russia and that benefits us." At the end of the call, the imposter says: "Thank you, my friend. It was nice to see you again, and I remember our first meeting with Lord Hague and Bernard and Lily Vie." The FCDO said it had released details of the exchange publicly over dears it could be "manipulated". The call was carried out by Russian pranksters who use the aliases "Vovan and Lexus" and appears to have lasted around 15 minutes. The duo are well-known in Russia and have claimed to have duped a string of politicians and celebrities in the past including Sir Elton John, US statesman John McCain, Prince Harry and JK Rowling. The Foreign Office said today that the call looked like a Russian information operation designed to distract attention from Moscow's war in Ukraine. A spokesperson for Britain's Foreign Office said in a statement: "We made public the fact that this call happened weeks ago, to do the right thing and make sure others were warned of the risk at the earliest opportunity. "The Foreign Secretary understood this was a private call with a Ukrainian politician. "This is clearly Russian, and is standard practice for information operations. Disinformation is a tactic straight from the Kremlin playbook to try to distract from their illegal activities in Ukraine and the human rights abuses being committed there." It did not answer a question about the video's authenticity, which Sky News has not independently verified. The US is reportedly moving towards lifting a ban on American military contractors deploying to Ukraine, according to a group of US officials familiar with the matter. The US is said to be looking for ways to speed up the maintenance and repairs of Ukraine's weapons systems. The equipment that has sustained significant damage in combat currently has to be transported out of the country to Poland, Romania, or other NATO countries for repairs, which takes time. US troops are also available to help with maintenance and logistics, though this is only from afar via video chat or secure phone. One advanced system that officials say will likely require regular maintenance is the F-16 fighter jet, which Ukraine is set to receive later this year. The policy is still being drafted by US officials and has not yet received final sign-off from President Joe Biden, officials said. "We have not made any decisions and any discussion of this is premature," one administration official told CNN. "The president is absolutely firm that he will not be sending US troops to Ukraine." The White House has been determined since the war began in 2022 to limit both the danger to Americans and the perception that the US military is engaged in combat there. The US state department has also warned Americans against travelling to Ukraine since 2022. European Union countries are looking to set up a new sanctions regime to counter hybrid attacks, draft European Council conclusions showed today. EU leaders will meet tomorrow and Friday to discuss critical issues including the war in Ukraine, the Middle East, security and defence and recent political events in Georgia. Discussing a new framework to target hybrid attacks that have been rising over the last year is also on the agenda. "The European Council strongly condemns all types of hybrid activities... including intimidation, sabotage, foreign information manipulation and interference, disinformation, malicious cyber activities and the instrumentalisation of migrants by third countries," the draft conclusions stated. "In response to Russia's destabilising actions abroad, the European Council reiterates its call for work to be taken forward in the Council to establish a new sanctions regime." NATO said in May it was "deeply concerned" about recent hybrid attacks that affected several EU countries, notably those on its eastern flank, and blamed Russia. Moscow regularly denies Western accusations that it is involved in hybrid attacks. What are hybrid attacks? NATO define hybrid attacks as threats that combine military and non-military as well as covert and overt means, including "disinformation, cyber attacks, economic pressure, deployment of irregular armed groups and use of regular forces". These kinds of attacks are below the threshold of open armed aggression but are intended to manipulate the targeted government and society indirectly. They aim to cause public panic, soften the targeted country's authorities, and force decisions desired by the aggressor. They can be conducted by agents of secret services or special forces, non-state mercenaries, private military contractors or recruited local criminals. China is not neutral when it comes to the Russia-Ukraine war and has sided with Vladimir Putin, according to the US ambassador to Beijing. Nicholas Burns said that despite its claims of neutrality, China was providing a range of technologies to Moscow while maintaining strong trade ties with Russia throughout the conflict. Speaking in the Chinese financial hub of Shanghai, he said Russia's invasion, now in its third year, had become an "existential crisis" in Europe. "We think it's a major mistake to allow Chinese companies, by the thousands, to be sending so many components, technology components, microprocessors (and) nitrocellulose to Russia to reinforce and strengthen the defence industrial base of the Russian Federation for this brutal war," Mr Burns said. China "is not neutral, but has effectively sided with Russia in this war", the ambassador added. Beijing has refused to refer to Russia's invasion as such, and has blamed NATO for provoking Mr Putin. Prior to the invasion in February 2022, China and Russia signed an agreement vowing a limitless friendship. EU sanctions Meanwhile, China has called on the European Union to "unconditionally" stop sanctioning Chinese firms. The EU's 14th package of sanctions on Russia included several companies located in Hong Kong, as well as two global satellite giants. The firms are now subject to drastic restrictions over sales of "dual-use goods and technology" that could be used for the "enhancement of Russia's defence and security sector". Beijing hit back on Tuesday, saying it opposed "unilateral sanctions with no basis in international law" and had lodged "stern representations" with the EU. "The development of normal exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Russian businesses does not target any third party," foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a regular press briefing in Beijing. By Ivor Bennett, Moscow correspondent In general, the official line from the Kremlin on this case is that it's a matter for the court and it therefore can't comment. That was the answer last week when Vladimir Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, was asked why the trial would be held behind closed doors. Russia insists its courts are independent, and that justice must be left to run its course. Today, the line evolved slightly. Mr Peskov said the case was "not so resonant" in Russia. That's not how it felt at the courthouse in downtown Yekaterinburg. There were dozens of camera crews and photographers there, including a local outlet called Scream TV, which appeared more interested in us, as foreign media, than the case itself. The US accuses Russia of stockpiling Americans, like Evan Gershkovich, to use as human bargaining chips. If that's the case, it feels like the Kremlin is trying to maximise its leverage, because Mr Peskov also said today that there was currently no sign of a possible exchange. Moscow is working on a "big treaty" with Iran, Russia's foreign ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova has said. Ms Zakharova's comment appeared to be a reference to a comprehensive bilateral cooperation agreement that is being negotiated between Tehran and Moscow. Earlier this year, it was reported that Iran had supplied Russia with ballistic missiles. Reuters news agency reported that the Iranian regime had supplied around 400 missiles to Russia for the first time since Vladimir Putin launched his full-scale invasion. The munitions included many short-range ballistic missiles, with the ability to strike targets at a range of between 186 and 435 miles. And in January, Russia's foreign ministry said that a new interstate treaty reflecting the "unprecedented upswing" in Russia-Iran ties was in the final stages of being agreed.
