Concept Art Empire

Draw & Paint Online With These Free Browser-Based Webapps

Digital art used to be something you could only do on a desktop with expensive software and equipment(read: drawing tablets). But with so many awesome art apps out there you can create incredible artwork on your smartphone, tablet, or even in your web browser.

Actually one of the best ways to do this is with free browser-based apps.

Most of these work best with a Wacom tablet and stylus, but you can also go a long way with a mouse or trackpad if you have patience.

Play around with a few of these and see which ones may fit best for your workflow. You’ll be surprised how much artwork you can actually make with these!

Sketchpad Webapp

Sketchpad digital online drawing

Check Out Sketchpad

Sketchpad is fairly intuitive and simple to use, even if you’ve never used an app to create art before.

You’ll get a basic set of tools and brushes like adjustable pencils, stamps, text tools, clipart, and lines with snapping capabilities and layers. You can keep things really basic, or use the tools to their fullest potential to create some seriously cool stuff.

Mostly anyone would love the clean, intuitive layout because it’s super quick and easy to access with all your tools, no matter what type of tech you’re using.

Sketchpad might not be the tool for creating highly detailed finished pieces. In fact I’m almost sure it’s not.

But it’s a great way to dip your toes into digital drawing and get used to using a webapp.

YouIDraw webapp

Check Out YouiDraw

Unlike a lot of the other apps on this list, YouiDraw has been around for a while.

It’s great for drawing, along with creating designs like logos and maybe some basic icons.

This app has lots of features to explore, so you can get as simple or as complex as you want.

You can start by drawing on a blank page or by uploading an image to manipulate.

YouiDraw works a bit differently from most apps and programs, but it’s actually really cool when you get the hang of it.

Most digital art programs use layers as a way to organize the elements in your piece. YouiDraw uses not only layers but pathways too.

Don’t worry, you still have layers here.

But each element you put on your canvas is also its own “path” that you can edit and manipulate on its own. This takes some getting used to. But you might find pathways even easier than layers !

Once you get a grip on pathways and learn not to get lost you’ll love what you can do with this app.

Pixlr pixel art app

Check Out Pixlr

Pixlr is kind of like old-school Photoshop because it has a similar setup, so it’s a decent alternative if you don’t want to invest any money on art software(yet!)

With Pixlr you can also draw or modify images just like you would with Photoshop.

Start with a fresh canvas to draw or paint on, or upload an image from your computer if you’d rather start that way.

You’ll find a lot of tools similar to what you’d get in Photoshop with many of the same capabilities. So this is great if you just don’t want to shell out for Photoshop. Still, this isn’t a real replacement for desktop drawing software.

And this might not be the best for total beginners learning digital art, but those with some experience can jump right in easy peasy.

Aggie drawing app

Check Out Aggie

This app is so fun because it’s meant to be collaborative . So you can create art with other people around the world!

Several artists can all open the same file and work on it at once, which is pretty darn cool I think.

This is great for brainstorming on projects, or for creating fun artworks and goofing around.

The app is fairly new so it’s changing all the time and frequently getting new features. But you can already do quite a bit with it.

Note : since it’s under construction though, the creators advise you to save work frequently.

Unlike a lot of these other apps, you can use stylus pressure with Aggie although quality varies from browser to browser.

Aggie has lots of tool settings and capabilities, but it does pretty much anything you can expect from a drawing program.

If the collaborative aspect appeals to you, well here’s your app.

Sumopaint preview

Check Out Sumopaint

Sumopaint is a popular webapp for creating and sharing artwork because it comes with a community of other artists. Here you can share artwork, collaborate, and learn from each other.

You can even use it offline!

The app comes with perspective tools, a huge variety of adjustable 2D and 3D brushes, layer capabilities, stamping and cloning tools, and so much more.

In other words: this app is wildly popular for a reason.

You can draw and paint an original piece from scratch or edit photos all with this one simple web-based tool.

It’s worth noting they do have a pro version but I’m not sure what that offers extra. After toying around with this a bit though, I’d say the free version is plenty.

Kleki drawing

Check Out Kleki

Here’s a very simple app to get you up and drawing in no time.

It’s a neat little webapp to help beginners get used to the basic tools you’ll find in almost any art program.

Kleki has a simple layout that you can figure out in minutes, even if you’re a digital drawing newbie.

You won’t find as many tools here as you will in some of these other apps, but Kleki is great for drawing and sketching ideas fast.

It’s perfect if you don’t need a lot of detail in your work. Also for newcomers who just want to create simple drawings or comics, or just get used to creating art in this digital format.

While it might not be the program for elaborate finished pieces, you can do quite a bit with these simple tools and a little creativity.

In fact, sometimes simplicity opens to the door to even more creativity because it forces you to use limited tools in a new way.

Pixilart Draw

Pixilart draw

Check Out Pixilart Draw

Not to be confused with the Pixlr editor app mentioned earlier, this program is specifically for creating pixel art. You know, the stuff you’d see in old 8-bit or 16-bit video games.

You’ll find a lot of the same tools here that you’d find in any drawing program like brushes, a paint bucket, color picker, text, and stamp. Just that everything is pixelated.

If this is your style well here’s your webapp!

It’s a lot of fun to play with if you’re experienced or if you’ve never tried this art style before. It definitely doesn’t do a lot of things, but it does do pixel art really really well .

Worth playing around with if you’re into pixel art or 2D game design.

Vectr homepage

Check Out Vectr

Vectr is an intuitive graphic design tool created to shorten the learning curve and help designers create some amazing stuff fast.

This app isn’t really meant for painting and drawing, but rather for creating graphic designs like logos, icons, slideshows, or maybe small vector graphics.

Given the name you can probably guess this webapp only creates vector files. So if you do create some artwork here you can scale it out to massive sizes while still maintaining image quality.

If you’re interested in graphic design definitely try this out! With this one app you can easily create professional quality images or icons while still feeling like an artist.

One of the cool things about Vectr(besides being free) is that you can collaborate with others in real time.

Other designers can watch you draw live(and you can watch them) which is great for teaching and learning. It also comes with tons of free tutorials right on the site so you can start learning immediately.

LetsDraw.it

Letsdrawit

Check Out LetsDraw

This app is actually a bunch of drawing games like Pictionary, as well as drawing contests and challenges all rolled into one thing.

If you just feel like drawing you can open a blank canvas and get started here. But the interactive stuff adds another layer on the site.

Games can actually improve your drawing skills if you practice the right ones.

Some of them require you to draw quickly instead of overthinking things. And the “it’s just a game” mindset can remove a lot of the mental pressure we put on ourselves when we’re creating art, opening us up to more freedom to express creative ideas.

LetsDraw.it is a lot of fun and a great way to get used to drawing on a computer. It’s simple to get started and intuitive to pick up.

GIMP Browser Extension

GIMP chrome extension

Check Out GIMP Extension

As you probably gathered from the name, this browser extension/webapp is an online pared-down version of the popular digital graphics software GIMP .

It does have a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it you can create truly stunning work.

In fact it might have the most capabilities out of any webapp on this list.

You can do a lot or a little with this sucker. Draw and create original artwork, manipulate images, and retouch photos. So many possibilities!

This might not the best choice for total beginners, but if you’ve used GIMP before or are semi-experienced with digital art you’ll love this thing.

Google Quick Draw

GoogleQuickdraw

Check Out Google Quick Draw

This is actually a drawing game and AI experiment, and it’s lots of fun!

You’re basically playing Pictionary with a machine. You draw and it guesses what you’re drawing, and it learns as you go because it remembers not only your drawings, but those of everyone else who uses it.

This game is crazy smart and it’s always getting smarter.

Not only will you get to play a fun game and hone your drawing skills, your drawings will also go into the program’s database where they’ll contribute to further AI research .

Google Quick Draw is perfect for doodlers, Pictionary enthusiasts, AI nerds, and anyone who wants to kill a little time playing with a really brainy art machine.

The 8 Best Platforms for Sharing Your Digital Art Online

How I Capture Stunning Sunset Photos With My Smartphone

I used the same dall-e prompts a year apart: here's what happened, why i left goodreads and switched to this superior alternative.

Whether you're looking for somewhere to host your digital art portfolio or simply want to share your latest artworks, it can be difficult to choose a website to upload to. Or at least, it definitely is more so than before, now that art websites aren't bubbling with as much excitement as they used to be.

You know that each site has its pros and cons, but it's hard to figure out what those are unless you make an account and see for yourself. Don't worry if you don't have time for that—we've got your back. Here are the websites we recommend for sharing your digital art, and why you might want to consider them.

pixiv online digital art sharing platform

If you were around when the online art scene was ridiculously active, chances are that your art style is influenced by anime and/or manga in some way. Otaku culture began its slow sneak into mainstream media back then, and Pixiv is a great home for artists that fall in that category.

Pixiv started as a small online community based in Japan, but has since grown into a site with over 50 million artists from all around the world. It's often praised for having "better" art overall when compared to other art-sharing platforms. This could perhaps be attributed to the fact that most professional Japanese illustrators choose Pixiv as their portfolio site.

The site used to be infamous for its messy navigation and gallery setup. Netizens found humor in knowing that the site was still gaining traction even when it was a headache to use. Since then, most of Pixiv's old overcrowded design has been replaced with a sleeker interface, so there isn't much to complain about now.

2. ArtStation

artstation online digital art sharing platform

ArtStation's rise to prominence comes in perfect timing with the growth of the video game industry. That's because the site is mainly geared towards creatives interested in video games and film animation (though it welcomes artists of all kinds). It's not uncommon for big-name companies in those industries to search for new recruits on ArtStation.

That said, ArtStation is definitely more of a platform than it is a community. You're much more likely to form business connections than you are to form ride-or-die online friendships. That's a dealbreaker for a lot of artists, especially if you're one to rely on feedback. But you can't deny that ArtStation usually has content to deliver whenever there's a new art trend going around.

3. DeviantArt

deviant art online digital art sharing platform

DeviantArt is very much a platform you'd call "old faithful." Digital artists that have been on the scene for over five years have probably been on DeviantArt at one point or another. It's got everything you'd need: a place to display your works, a vast potential audience, commission features, and social spaces.

Having been around since 2000, DeviantArt is the launch point for many of today's biggest independent illustrators, such as Yue Wang ( sakimichan ), Wenqing Yan ( yuumei ), and Lois Van Baarle ( loish ). Unfortunately, the site probably doesn't have the power to propel new artists to those heights anymore.

The site still has a huge userbase, yet there isn't as much engagement as there once was. Most deviants these days seem to be the silent lurking type, which is why DeviantArt is no longer considered to be "the" platform to share art. It remains plenty useful, but it's in desperate need of an upgrade—one that consists of more than just a rebrand.

Artfol art social network discover

Artfol officially launched in April 2021 , which makes it the youngest platform on this list. Artfol had the privilege of getting to see where the platforms before it failed and was developed with the help of a lot of user feedback, so it gets right what a lot of other "aspiring-to-be-the-new-standard" platforms get wrong.

DeviantArt and ArtStation have received criticism in the past for featuring the same artists on their front pages, which is probably why Artfol has decided to ditch "complex algorithms" altogether. It promises that all its users have equal opportunity to be seen.

Artfol also keeps personal metrics private (only you can see your Like counts), and offers fun in-app Challenges. Unfortunately, many of the features are limited to a mobile app as the web version is in beta at the time of writing.

Download: Artfol for Android | iOS (Free, in-app purchases available)

behance online digital art sharing platform

Behance is to art-sharing websites what LinkedIn is to social media networks. It's less suited for hobbyists and is built for those willing to pursue digital art as a profession. There's a Discover feed you can sift through, and even dedicated spaces for job hunting and live streams.

Scrolling through the website can seem intimidating at first, as Behance has no shortage of talented individuals. But that also means it's a really good place to receive constructive criticism—which is the best part about it. When the artists aren't fighting for the same job opportunities, they're helping each other improve.

The platform is owned by none other than the big creative tech conglomerate that is Adobe. Thankfully, that doesn't mean that you need a Creative Cloud subscription to use Behance. You will need to create an Adobe ID, though.

6. Instagram

Instagram social media platform artoftheday

Instagram is a hesitant entry on this list. It undoubtedly can get your name and art out there if you know how to maximize your Instagram exposure , but such a feat is much harder than it would be on any other platform.

Why? Well, Instagram welcomes images and videos of a variety of things. There are artists, of course, but there are also a bunch of photos of folks' everyday lives. It's like if you were a traditional painter, and you chose to hang your piece in the middle of a shopping mall instead of a museum. The consumers are there for reasons other than appreciating art.

Still, hashtags on Instagram are more powerful than some people expect. #artistsoninstagram and #artoftheday, for instance, are great tags to use when you're not sure if you want to tag a specific theme, tool, or technique.

Download: Instagram for Android | iOS (Free, in-app purchases available)

7. Doodle Addicts

doodle addicts online art sharing platform

Doodle Addicts is a fairly new online art community, but it doesn't lack when it comes to its features. Of course, you can use Doodle Addicts to discover art and to upload and share your own to the community of over 30,000 members, but that's not all.

Doodle Addicts offers fun drawing challenges, art prompts, art discussions and conversions, and an online marketplace. Struggling with creative block? This is where Doodle drawing challenges and drawing prompts come in handy. Try using them together with these awesome free online drawing and painting tools .

The drawing prompts are emailed straight to you every Monday, however, keep in mind that you need to upgrade to Doodle Addicts Plus to receive them.

8. Dribbble

dribbble online art sharing platform

The Dribbble platform is slightly more popular among creatives and designers who are searching for job opportunities. It is also a well-known online community for graphic designers .

However, it is still an excellent online platform if all you want to do is simply share and showcase your work. From animations and illustrations to web design and typography, you'll also be admiring other digital designers' work.

If you find something you like, show some love by sharing it with your social networks, saving it to your collections, or leaving some feedback. After all, if you're using Dribbble to get hired for your digital art, constructive criticism is always helpful.

Share Your Digital Art With the World

When choosing an art website, there's a lot to consider. What kind of art are you sharing? Who do you want to share it with? Did you want to build a following, or find a community and have a very interactive experience?

These are the sorts of questions you need to ask before you make your choice (or choices—no one said you had to limit yourself!).

47 Best Drawing Apps and Art Apps in 2024 (Free & Paid)

Amrish Mudgal - Author

Here's a rundown of the best drawing apps and art apps to create stunning digital art on mobile and desktop.

Artists and illustrators have a new super-tool in their arsenal - Drawing Apps. Things to consider when choosing a drawing app:

Platform matters.

If you're serious about taking up digital drawing, consider your hardware choices carefully. Ideally, you'll want to sample the exact tablet and computer setup with the stylus of your choice. In short, some are glitchier than others, and creating art requires more finesse than some can deliver.

If possible, consider a tablet with a stylus made by the same manufacturer, for example, the Apple iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil. This ensures the two pair perfectly for the smoothest possible drawing experience.

Also, look for pressure sensitivity. Different styluses handle the task differently. The feedback provided with pressure sensitivity adds an extra realism that makes drawing on your tablet as close to analog pencil and paper as you can imagine.

As with all apps, be sure to check the operating system used by the app of your choice. The most popular platforms are Windows, macOS, Apple iOS, and Android, and unfortunately, very few apps work on all of them.

Raster vs. Vector Drawing Apps

In the digital world, there are two sorts of images you can draw. Raster images, like JPG or PNG photographs, are drawn pixel by pixel. If you zoom in or enlarge the picture, it will get blurrier and blurrier if it exceeds the pixel size of the image. Think of this as drawing on paper, and you are limited by how large your paper is. You cannot expand the paper size like you cannot expand the pixels. Drawing a raster image is as simple and reasonably intuitive, depending on the app.

Vector drawings solve this problem but unfortunately, add much more complexity. Vector images, like AI or EPS formats, are the world standard in the printing industry. These pictures are made more like computer programs than photographs. In vector drawing applications, you make many paths (lines or shapes) that make up your image. It takes a bit more practice. Some vector apps make the process super simple, but the professional programs with all the bells and whistles take a bit of getting used to.

3D Programs

No discussion of online drawing apps would be complete without a word about three-dimensional drawing apps. If you're looking to create 3D modeling,3D printing ideas or going for that other-worldly feel that is everywhere, you'll want to make sure to pick the best drawing app that is capable of producing 3D images too. And don't feel left out if you got your drawing apps for free, some of these include 3D rendering also! Here are most useful 3d printing ideas that you can get inspired by.

Now that you have an idea of how many free drawing apps are out there to choose from, you may feel a bit taken back. But remember, the most fun part of finding the best canvas for your project of choice is the adventure in trying them all out! So which do you think is the best drawing app?

What is MidJourney?

Midjourney

Midjourney is an excellent example of generative AI that creates images based on text prompts. It has become one of the most popular tools for creating AI art, along with Dall-E and Stable Diffusion. Unlike its competitors, Midjourney is self-funded and closed-source, so knowing exactly what’s under the hood is cloudy. We know that it relies heavily on machine learning technologies such as large language and diffusion models. The results are sometimes startling, always impressive, and can possess very realistic qualities.

Unlike other AI art generators, it doesn’t have a free trial. It’s become so popular that signing up for a subscription is necessary before using it. That said, their lowest-tiered plan is reasonable at $10 monthly. In our experience, it’s well worth it, considering the level of detail, realism, and creativity it provides. It’s also relatively easy to get started. Within a few minutes, we were able to generate a highly detailed, realistic series of photos of a dog having the time of his life in the bed of a truck just from a simple text prompt.

As a free member, you won’t have the option to create images, but you can poke around the interface to see what all the fuss is about. You can browse other users’ artwork by visiting different rooms, such as newbies-4 , to get a feel for how Midjourney works.

Step 2: Signing up for a Midjourney Subscription

To create artwork, you must sign up for a Midjourney subscription. We’ll walk you through the easiest way to do it. Near the bottom of the screen, you’ll discover a text prompt. Click within it and start typing /subscribe . This will bring up the subscription prompt, allowing you to sign up for one of Midjourney’s paid plans. Click subscribe to Midjourney , then click enter on your keyboard.

subscribe

The bot will redirect you to the subscription page to choose a plan tier that meets your needs. There are three tiers: Basic , which costs $10 per month, comes with 200 generations a month, and gives you a private chat room to generate images. The next plan, the Standard , gives you 15 hours of image generation, unlimited relaxed (slow) generations, and a private chat room for $30 monthly. Finally, there’s the Pro plan, which costs $60 per month, and provides 30 hours of fast image generation, a free chatroom, and unlimited relaxed image generation at $60 per month.

Midjourney paid plans

The basic plan is your best option if you’re starting out. It allows you to explore the platform, generate images, and familiarize yourself with the interface and how text prompting works. If you like what you see, you can always upgrade to a higher tier simply by inputting the /subscribe prompt to bring you to your account, where you can easily upgrade.

Understanding MidJourney’s Tools and Features

When first starting out, Midjourney can be hectic. While it is a good idea to check out one of the newcomer rooms to get a feel for how things work, it can be challenging to keep up. Thousands of people are in the newbie rooms at any given time, making it difficult to see your generated images. It’s best to download and install the Discord app, where you can access private messaging with Midjourney, making viewing and altering your images much more straightforward. To download the app, click on the floating green bar at the top of your screen. Discord will sense your operating system and automatically suggest the correct app version.

Download Discord

Once installed, you can click the Discord icon at the top left of the app to access your private chat room.

Midjourney private messages

Using private messaging provides a much less hectic interface, where you can generate images and easily see them in a private chat without the distraction of viewing other users’ photos. However, participating in group rooms is a great way to get inspiration and watch what prompts others use to generate gorgeous images.

Creating AI Art with Midjourney

Before beginning your quest to create unique AI art, there are a few basic commands to be aware of. First and foremost, any prompt must start with / . For example, when wanting to create a new image, you’d input something along these lines: /imagine a hyperrealistic image of a dog in the bed of a truck . In less than a minute, your first set of images will appear.

general imagine prompt

When your first set of images appears, you’ll notice a series of buttons underneath them. The top row of buttons is for upscaling one or more of the generated images. They are numbered U1 – U4, which are used to identify the images in the sequence. So, for instance, if you want to upscale the second image, click the U2 button in the top row.

upscaling buttons

On the right side of the first row is the regenerate button . This is an excellent tool if you aren’t satisfied with the first set of images Midjourney created for you. Click the regenerate button to ask Midjourney to try another concept based on the original prompt.

regenerate button

Finally, the second row of buttons is used for variations . Numbering V1 – V4, you can choose the button corresponding to the image you wish to create variations for. Once clicked, Midjourney will take that image and create variations of it.

variation buttons

In addition to the imagine prompt, there are a few other commands to be aware of. Here’s a list of all the basic commands within Midjourney.

Imagine Commands

If you want to control the output of your imagine prompts, you can input additional parameters behind /imagine . You can choose things like aspect ratio, level of styling, and more. For example, we input this prompt to generate an image that has an image quality of 3 and an image prompt weight of .25: /imagine cats and dogs –q3 –iw 0.25 . We instructed Midjourney to create an image of cats and dogs, give it an image quality of 3, and set the image weight to .25. Image weight lets Midjourney know how closely you want your image to relate to the text prompt. A higher weight will result in images closely related to your prompt. In contrast, a lower one gives the bot more freedom to create the images.

cats and dogs

There is also the aspect ratio command, which is useful for changing the width and height of your images. By default, Midjourney creates square images with an output resolution of 1024 x 1024 pixels. If you want to create an image that isn’t square, you’ll need to specify an aspect ratio. For example, we used this prompt to generate a photo with a 16:9 aspect ratio: a beautiful, hyperrealistic landscape with mountains in the background. A frozen lake is in the foreground, with children ice skating –ar 16:9 :

Midjourney aspect ratio

Since the release of version 5, some commands no longer work. For example, you can no longer use the width (–w) or height (–h) parameters. Here’s a full list of all parameters you can use with /imagine .

Advanced Prompts

With image prompts , you can upload one of your images to use within Midjourney. You can combine them with image weight (–iw) to adjust the image’s importance in relation to the text portion of your prompt. You can also use Remix , which allows you to change your prompts, parameters, model versions, or aspect ratios. You can use remixing to change the lighting, evolve a focal point, or create cool compositions. To enable remix mode , type in /prefer remix . For example, we’ll take an upscaled image of a frozen lake with children skating and change it to penguins skating.

Midjourney remix mode

There are also multi prompts , which gives you the ability to define more than one concept during image generation using a double colon (::) within your prompt. For example, typing /imagine cat tails will have a very different result than /imagine cat::tails would:

Midjourney multi prompts

Finally, permutation prompts allow you to generate variations of a single /imagine command. It works by inputting a list of options separated by a comma within curly brackets. For example, if you want to create variations of different colored flowers, you’d use something like this: /imagine a {red, orange, yellow, blue} bouquet of flowers :

multi-prompt

Tips for Using Midjourney

Knowing a few tips is important to successfully use any AI generative software. Although a relatively new concept, AI art generators like Midjourney are becoming mainstream. Because of this, learning how to get the most out of it is important. Here are a few tips and tricks to start you on your quest for digital art creation.

While that might sound counterproductive, generating AI art follows the same concept as writing a good blog post. It’s always better to be descriptive but concise when constructing prompts in Midjourney. Giving it too much to go on can either overwhelm it or, at the very least, result in undesirable images. For example, check out the differences in these prompts. The first one /imagine a photorealistic cat will produce a set of cat images, but a more specific prompt, such as /imagine a photorealistic cat with long white fur and blue eyes , will produce a more detailed output.

Midjourney concise prompts

Use Styles and Mediums

One of the best aspects of Midjourney is its ease of use. Literally, anyone can create a prompt that produces beautiful artwork. If you want to improve your game, use styles and mediums in your prompts. For example, we uploaded images of ourselves to turn us into Victorian queens simply by telling Midjourney to imagine this woman as a 1700’s era Victorian queen . Using the descriptors Victorian and queen , Midjourney understood what we wanted. The results were interesting.

Midjourney era art

You can also have Midjourney create images based on different artistic styles. In this example, we asked it to /imagine a photo of a Goldendoodle created in the style of Leonardo da Vinci , with the following result:

Leonardo da Vinci goldendoodle

Additionally, you can use mediums such as line art, sketch, oil painting, or similar to create images that have a unique artistic appearance. For example, /imagine a black-and-white line drawing of a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro :

Midjourney Chevy Camaro

Combine Concepts

Another thing to try is combining concepts to create interesting pieces. Rather than prompting Midjourney to create a superhero, add another theme to get more targeted results. For example, we used /imagine a Canadian superhero , which resulted in a series of images of a superhero clad in the colors of the Canadian flag:

Combining concepts

Use Lighting for More Dynamic Output

One of the most important aspects of artistic expression is using lighting effectively. By default, Midjourney will add some lighting to the output. However, if you want to see improvement, one of the best places is to start by adding a bit of lighting to your prompt. For example, we used the following prompt to incorporate beautiful lighting effects: /imagine an image of the Eiffel Tower at midday, complete with cinematic lighting .

cinematic lighting

Examples of Midjourney AI Art With Prompts

One of the best ways to learn Midjourney is to play with it as much as possible. Use it to generate images with different styles, learn better ways to enter prompts, and gain inspiration from other AI artists. To show you the massive capabilities of Midjourney, here are a few examples of what can be achieved after a few hours of image generation.

Using Your Images

If you want to turn yourself into a member of the Royal family or just a cool superhero, try using one of your photos with Midjourney. To do this, click the plus next to the text prompt box at the bottom of your screen.

upload a file

Once uploaded, click the image, then select open in browser . In the next step, you’ll need to copy the image URL to use alongside /imagine.

open in browser

Next, type /imagine into the text field, then paste the URL of your uploaded image . Follow up with the image you’d like to create. In our case, we want an image of a superhero with cinematic lighting.

image prompt

Midjourney will do its best to create your desired image, but remember to be specific . If you want the photos to be female, specify that. Just because you upload an image of a woman doesn’t mean you’ll receive female superheroes. For example, we used the prompt /imagine a hyperrealistic image of a female superhero . Omitting the word female might cause Midjourney to create male photos, which may or may not work for you.

female superheroes

Using Blending Effects

Try using the /blend command to create stunning effects.

blend command

It works much like the /imagine command, except you can upload anywhere from 2-5 images, then ask Midjourney to blend them with a text prompt. That said, ensure that both images have the same dimensions for the best results. You can even specify the aspect ratio you’d like. For example, we used the /blend command to combine a photo of a cat and dog, resulting in the image of the dog taking on the same feel as the photo of the cat.

blended images

Final Thoughts on MidJourney

No matter what type of AI art you create, Midjourney can do it. One of the best things about generating AI art is not having to be able to draw or paint to be creative. Using pre-defined tools such as blend or custom parameters for aspect ratio, styling, or image weight, you can create one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork that will blow you away.

Any copy right issue if we use the image generated by mid journey?

The copyright status of images generated by Midjourney is still being debated. Some people argue that the images are not copyrightable because they are created by an algorithm and not by a human. Others argue that the images are copyrightable because they are the product of creative expression. The Midjourney Terms of Service state that you own all assets you create with the service, but this only applies if you have a paid account. Demi Moore on Full Frontal Nudity With Margaret Qualley in ‘The Substance’: ‘A Very Vulnerable Experience’ but I Had a ‘Great Partner Who I Felt Very Safe With’

CANNES, FRANCE - MAY 19: Demi Moore and her dog Pilaf attend a photocall at the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival at the Carlton Cannes Hotel on May 19, 2024 in Cannes, France. (Photo by Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images)

Demi Moore ‘s new film, the feminist body horror “ The Substance ,” sees her bare it all, with several scenes featuring full nudity. At the Cannes Film Festival press conference for the film on Monday, the 61-year-old actor discussed the “vulnerable experience.”

“Going into it, it was really spelled out — the level of vulnerability and rawness that was really required to tell the story,” Moore said. “And it was a very vulnerable experience and just required a lot of sensitivity and a lot of conversation about what we were trying to accomplish.”

Tony ratings have a long gap to clear, despite efforts to mimic larger shows, watch 'rupaul's drag race' stars perform 'power' at a library during emmy fyc event, popular on variety.

“I had someone who was a great partner who I felt very safe with. We obviously were quite close  — naked — and we also got a lot of levity in those moments at how absurd those certain situations were,” she said. “But ultimately. it’s just about really directing your communication and mutual trust.”

As the film progresses, Moore becomes horribly disfigured thanks to the abuse her other half Qualley is inflicting on her. By the film’s last act, she quite resembles Anjelica Huston from the 1990 film “The Witches,” after she transforms into a humpback abomination.

Dennis Quaid also stars in the film as an “asshole,” as he described his character during the presser. The late Ray Liotta was meant to have the role before his passing in May 2022, and Quaid dedicated his performance to him.

“In my heart, I dedicated this role to Ray Liotta, who was set to play it,” Quaid said. “It was this week, two years ago that he passed, so I’d like to remember him. He was such an incredible actor.”

Cannes went wild for “The Substance” at its premiere on Sunday night, giving the film an 11-minute standing ovation , the longest of the fest so far.

In an interview with Variety , the French director discussed the film’s feminist themes, saying that body horror is “the perfect vehicle to express the violence all these women’s issues are about.”

With an undercurrent of #MeToo at this year’s festival as the movement grows in France, Fargeat hopes the film will shine even more light on the issue. “It’s a little stone in the huge wall we still have to build regarding this issue, and to be honest, I hope my film will also be one of the stones of that wall. That’s really what I intended to do with it.”
