Every Rule 'Love Is Blind' Contestants Have To Follow While Filming The TV Show

The rule book for this show is intense .

Headshot of Charlotte Chilton

Watch your back, Bachelor producers : Netflix's Love Is Blind is coming in hot. The juicy and addictive show follows men and women as they go on a series of blind dates in hopes of finding The One. Will they fall in love and get engaged without ever seeing each other? That's the exact question viewers tune in to find out. Each season is messier than the last, and after watching, if you—like everyone else—have even MORE questions, I feel you. Here are all the rules the cast has to follow during the 38-day experiment.

The singles can't see each other...

Fashion, Footwear, Event, Photography, Flooring, Gesture, Style, Advertising,

The biggest rule of the show is that the cast members can't see who they're dating. How does this work? The creators designed pods that separate the men and women by glowing walls.

...or touch each other.

Stage, Performance, Talent show, Dress, Event, Photography, Photo caption, Music venue, Performing arts,

Since, you know, the men and women aren't in the same room together, they can't touch the person they're dating. No hand-holding. No kissing. No hugging. You get the picture.

They only get to meet AFTER getting engaged.

arch, architecture, window,

Couples enter the pods and spill their hearts out to one another. After—and only after—they're engaged are the couples allowed to meet face-to-face for the first time.

The men and women date for 10 days.

symmetry, font, room, photography, art, space, rectangle, screenshot, square, illustration,

The experiment is broken down into three different sections, starting with the dating period, which lasts 10 days . After getting engaged, couples go to paradise for a week to build their ~physical~ connection. For the last few weeks, they live together in the real world while planning their weddings.

No one HAS to get engaged.

love is blind

Creator Chris Coelen (who's also the mastermind behind Married at First Sight) said it was scary as a producer, because no one's required to get engaged or married. "[On] a show like we do Married at First Sight , you sign up and you know, you're getting married to a stranger. Here, nobody had to do anything. It was if you find someone, if you choose. Which is so scary. They don't have to go through with the wedding ceremony," he told Variety .

Producers arrange the first pod dates.

standing, event, white collar worker, suit, businessperson, formal wear,

It starts with speed dating. Cast members spend eight to 10 minutes with each person of the opposite sex, Coelen told E! News : "In the beginning, just from a practical standpoint, we have to give them certain time limits, just so we can [get] them through and they have a chance to talk to everyone...where they just got to know each other."

Male and female cast members have to live separately.

love is blind

Since singles aren't allowed to see each other before getting engaged, the male and female cast members live in separate areas and have a different team of producers too.

The experience is like living in a fraternity or sorority house.

event, lunch, conversation, table, taste, meal,

"Life at the facility felt like a sorority," season 1 cast member Lauren Speed told OprahDaily.com . "You'd think that people would be catty because some people would like the same guy. But we actually formed a sisterhood, no lie." Season 1 cast member Kenny Barnes told Refinery29 that the guys did plank competitions, cooked together, went for runs, and more.

Alone time is allowed.

hair, hairstyle, long hair, abdomen, photo shoot, chest, photography, brown hair, black hair, model,

Not only did the men and women bring notebooks into the pods with them to keep all of the people they were dating straight, but season 1 cast member Jessica Batten told Refinery29 that she wrote outside of the pods too: "I did a lot of journaling. I wanted to remember things, because every day is like a month in there and so much can change."

Sleeping arrangements are less than ideal.

love is blind

"We slept in trailers and they were correctional facility beds. The design was to just strip us down from our comfort level," Kenny told Refinery29 . Oh, and they only bank about four hours of sleep a night.

Cast members can visit the pods at any time.

Hair, Face, Facial expression, Hairstyle, Blond, Eyebrow, Chin, Brown hair, Lip, Nose,

Some men and women visit each other multiple times a day, because "the more they got in there, the more they have these conversations! Deep conversations that they never had with family members or friends or people they've dated," Coelen told Variety .

And they can stay in the pods for as long as they want.

love is blind

Coelen told Variety that the longest pod session on season 1 was around four to five hours—and that was only cut short by a pesky bathroom break. "They were there pretty much 24-7. It's funny because we would encourage them to take [breaks], 'You gotta eat! You gotta get some sleep!' But they didn't want to, they wanted to stay in those pods," he said.

No phones are allowed.

Leg, Sitting, Blond, Long hair, Human body, Muscle, Thigh, Human leg, Foot, Fur,

All of the cast members' devices are confiscated while they're dating in the pods, so they can focus all of their attention on their dates—and can't communicate with people outside of the experiment.

Wi-Fi is a no-go too...

glass, window, art, photography,

More than just phones are confiscated. There's no internet connection at all ! Meaning no computers, no TV, nada.

But books are allowed.

sitting, human body, comfort, denim, lap, reading, laugh, publication,

"We tried to allow them to do anything they could do on a date, without seeing or touching one another or staring at screens," Coelen told Bustle . "So if they wanted to read, we'd certainly allow it, if we could find the book for them." Interesting!

They shouldn't be afraid to get deep.

Hair, Face, Hairstyle, Nose, Chin, Eyebrow, Forehead, Beauty, Lip, Black hair,

Falling in love is a vulnerable experience, especially on TV, so cast members help each other process their emotions. "Some took longer than others, but every man there went through this 'vulnerability express'—this transformation. You had to go through it. There was such a big support when you saw someone fighting the experience. We were like, 'Listen man, what's up. Let's talk about this,'" season 1 cast member Mark Cuevas told OprahDaily.com .

Don't worry: The pods are soundproof.

love is blind

No distractions leads to better dates! "We didn’t want any sound to bleed through any other pods," Coelen told Variety . "We basically had a small speaker in the front wall and you would hear the other person who was in the other pod. There [are] no producers in there, there's nobody else. It's just you and the other person. That's it."

Nick and Vanessa Lachey aren't allowed to interfere.

Daily Pop - Season 2020

As hosts, Nick and Vanessa spend countless hours discussing each cast member's relationship with one another. But as hard as it may be, they aren't allowed to give advice that would sway the cast based on their knowledge of the other singles.

Producers can't interfere either.

camera operator, filmmaking, film crew, cinematographer, photography, media, videographer, metal, television studio, broadcasting,

The whole purpose of the show is for the singles to form strong emotional bonds, so the producers are there to help cast members plan special aspects of each date without impacting the outcome. "We wanted them to make the decisions and them to control their destiny," Coelen told OprahDaily.com .

Producers don't coach the conversations.

Event, Fashion, Dress, Shoulder, Fun, Fashion design, Prom, Smile, Photography, Ceremony,

The cast has to figure out what they want to talk about on their own. "They were never interrupted in terms of like a producer saying, 'Hey, talk about this, talk about that,' they just did what they wanted to do," Coelen told Variety .

The Selection Process for 'Love Is Blind' Is Actually Pretty Extensive — Here's How to Apply

The 'Love Is Blind' casting team work around the clock to find the best and most genuine singles in each city.

Lizzy Rosenberg - Author

Updated March 8 2024, 3:25 p.m. ET

It's hard to believe, but Netflix 's dating reality series Love Is Blind just finished Season 6.

The dating show—produced by Kinetic Content ( Married at First Sight and The Bachelor ) and hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey—calls itself a social experiment, delving into the importance of sexual attraction in relationships.

Throughout the show's six seasons, nine couples have said "I do" at the altar and are still together today. And we can expect the number to keep increasing as more seasons air.

Now, if you'd like to test out the pods for yourself, here's how to sign up for Love Is Blind. Beware, though—the selection process is grueling.

First off, the 'Love Is Blind' producers don't cast just anyone.

On many popular dating shows, a number of contestants are "there for the wrong reasons."

But Love Is Blind producers are supposedly extra selective, making sure that each cast member is truly interested in falling in love, rather than "building their brands."

In a 2020 interview with EW , the series creator, Chris Coelen, explained what they look for:

"We have a lot of experience in doing these kind of shows," he said. "We have a great casting department and they reached out to people who they felt would be genuinely interested in this kind of commitment. I think that’s really key; we want people who aren’t just doing it for the attention. There’s certainly plenty of places for people who want to do stuff for the attention. We wanted to be really dealing with people who were genuinely interested in it."

That's great to hear, but how do you actually apply?

How to apply to be on "Love Is Blind':

Unfortunately, we, the people, have no say on which areas Love Is Blind visits. They choose the cities, and if you do happen to live in that area, then you are more than welcome to fill out the application on the show’s website , where you'll be asked to submit a few things, including a 15-second video, pictures, and answer profiling questions. All contestants must live in the city where the season is filming so they can move in together following their experience in the pods and on the couples’ retreat.

As the show's casting director, Rosie Driscoll, previously told IndieWire , she and her team make their presence known once the season's city has been picked. “The big job for us is to make sure that everyone within a 50-mile radius is talking about the fact that Love Is Blind is casting there,” she said.

The casting team typically plans to talk with about 2,000 candidates via phone. They'll then choose 300 to 400 people for the next round of Zoom interviews. During this phase, the team will dig a little deeper to make sure they find the right people who are genuinely looking for love and not clout. The goal is to find those who have certain qualities that indicate they're committed to finding a meaningful relationship.

“Those indicators would be if they’ve done the work on themselves, healed from past relationships, truly understand what the meaning of love is, or have experienced what it is to love,” Rosie continued.

Additionally, each applicant must complete a nearly 300-question compatibility questionnaire. “It’s very detailed, and we have a background check and psych evaluation before anyone moves forward to the pod," she said.

From there, the casting team narrows its top 60 to 70 applicants down to 30.

"The story really has to hone in on the connections or triangles that we’re going to follow.…” she added. “The main thing is to follow the most authentic love stories at the end of the day."

'Love Is Blind' has filmed in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, Houston, and Charlotte. Where are they headed next?

In a September 2022 Instagram post, the casting producer revealed that they were looking for "amazing singles" in Charlotte, N.C., Washington, D.C., Tampa, Fla., and Detroit, Mich.

Season 6 took place in Charlotte, but we've yet to see D.C., Tampa, or Detroit. Perhaps we'll see the outcomes of these casting calls future seasons.

Seasons 1 through 6 of Love Is Blind are currently streaming on Netflix.

Does the Love Is Blind experiment actually work?

Critics amil niazi and kathryn vanarendonk unpack the results of netflix’s viral dating show.

love is blind experiment sign up

Social Sharing

Remember  Love Is Blind season 1? It came out just before the pandemic and captivated entire nations. People were fascinated by the new Netflix dating show and its characters, and wanted to see if love really could be blind.

The premise of Love Is Blind is that contestants "date" each other in pods where they can hear the other person's voice, but can't see what they look like. If two people choose to get engaged after ten days of talking, then they can finally see what the other person looks like.

  • Want to be on reality TV? Here's how to impress a casting producer

The show is six seasons deep and has inspired spinoffs in three other countries: Brazil, Japan and Sweden. Love Is Blind Season 6 dropped on Valentine's Day and it has already sparked a ton of discourse.

Even though the show is six seasons in, hosts Vanessa and Nick Lachey still call it "an experiment." But is it still an experiment at this point? And, more importantly, is it still working?

Just Asking  wants to know:  What questions do you have about the boom in reality TV and its impact on our lives and our minds?  Fill out the details on  this form  and send us your questions ahead of the show.

To unpack the results of this so-called experiment, culture critics Amil Niazi and Kathryn VanArendonk join host Elamin Abdelmahmoud on Commotion.

We've included some highlights below, edited for length and clarity. For the full discussion, plus a conversation with Montreal Gazette writer T'Cha Dunlevy about the cancellation of the Just for Laughs comedy festival, listen and follow the Commotion with Elamin Abdelmahmoud podcast on your favourite podcast player.

LISTEN | Today's episode on YouTube:

Elamin: Kathryn, you've watched the entire season. No spoilers, but we're going to try to get through this. What did you think of this season of Love Is Blind ?

Kathryn: I do think this season, which is set in North Carolina, is a little bit more of a return to form for this show. But that said, a return to form still means that there's a lot of unexpected things that happen, that there are these big moments between people that everyone wants to be able to predict. I think one of the things that I have noticed with this season, which I feel like has been increasing since the first season, is that there's an unending amount of chatter about it. It does feel increasingly like monoculture is gone — except maybe for Love Is Blind .

Elamin: There have been reports that some of the contestants were in some relationships while they were auditioning or filming the show. They've denied these accusations. Amil, what did you think of the casting this time around?

Amil: I think the issue with the casting is an issue that's prevalent across the reality TV landscape, which is that you have people who are acutely aware of how the show works and how best to come across. They understand that it creates its own ecosystem. But afterwards, you can become an influencer and you can get all these different deals. You see it in Salt Lake City . You know, you have Monica who's the newest housewife. She's obviously a fan of the show.

I think as viewers, we want a little bit of suspension of disbelief that the people on these shows are acting, that there's artifice there. We want them to be real and vulnerable. And I think that what we're seeing with the casting of Love Is Blind this season and all of this stuff coming out about how they were in relationships and they were presenting a certain persona for the show, is that it makes us feel cynical about the whole experiment.

Elamin: The show first dropped in February 2020, and it was billed as this experiment, Nick Lachey could not stop saying the word "experiment" on the show. There was a sense of sincerity there. I think there was a sense of: "These people are genuinely hoping to find love." Amber and Barnett did. Cameron and Lauren found love.

When you look at the arc of the show — six seasons in four years — how would you say this show has evolved since the first season?

Amil: I think the first season was such a hit because it's so difficult to have novelty in reality TV, and there are so many different kinds of formats, but we have a real understanding of how this thing works by now. When Love Is Blind came out, it felt so different. The contestants aren't going to even see each other. They're in these pods. Everyone involved genuinely seemed new to reality TV. I think it felt very fresh. And then, like I said, it's evolved in a way where now people understand how the show works. We've seen some people get influencer deals. Lauren and Cameron basically quit their jobs to be full-time influencers

And so you have people coming into it now who completely understand how the format works. And they're sort of manipulating it and using it. Now, it feels much like The Bachelor or Real Housewives . It feels like part of that universe as opposed to something fresh and exciting and new.

Elamin: Kathryn, every show has to become established. You're familiar with the format. What's your sense of how the show has evolved since the first season?

Kathryn: I think everything Amil is saying is correct in the sense that, like any reality show, once it's been around for several seasons, the players start analyzing the game. They understand how it works, they understand what buttons to push. I do think there's an important distinction between Love Is Blind and something like Real Housewives , though, where the ideal housewife is a multi-season deal. They are cast members who are going to return. They can become their own executive producers, or they have a lot more stake in the seasons that they're making.

Love Is Blind is closer to a one-season anthology model where you're actually filming for a very short period of time, like you're really only filming for six weeks at the most.

You can listen to the full discussion from today's show on CBC Listen or on our podcast, Commotion with Elamin Abdelmahmoud, available wherever you get your podcasts .

Here’s How To Apply For Love Is Blind

The show just put out a new casting call.

'Love Is Blind' is casting now. Photo via Netflix

Despite its rocky success rate when it comes to forging lasting relationships, Love Is Blind is as popular as ever. Last year, Netflix renewed the reality dating show through Season 5 — and with Season 4 wrapping up soon, viewers are already looking toward the future (and, likely, even more installments).

If you’ve wanted to try your hand at finding love in the pods, you may be wondering how to apply to be on Love Is Blind. And fortunately, you can still be cast on the show! So far, Love Is Blind casting has generally taken place in major cities across the country. The first four seasons recruited singles in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, and Seattle, respectively.

According to Backstage, a requirement of Love Is Blind thus far has been to “live in the city where the season is filming,” which makes sense given the show’s format, which requires couples to move in together after getting engaged. However, as fans have seen with Season 4, there seems to be some flexibility with that rule. Season 4’s Kwame Appiah, for example, lives in Portland and not Seattle.

This time around, Love Is Blind is seeking suitors from three metro areas: Washington, D.C., Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Denver, Kinetic Content Casting announced on March 29.

“I think it’s important for people to know that where we go in the future relies greatly on how many applications we get from certain cities all over the [United States],” head of casting Donna Driscoll told Screen Rant in 2020. “Even if we’re not in their city this season, they should still apply, because we could very much be headed that way [in the future].”

So if you’re interested, give it a try! The official Love Is Blind casting website is LoveIsBlind.CastingCrane.com. Here, you will be asked to submit a 15-second video, several photos, and answers to a series of questions — about everything from past relationships, to potential dealbreakers, to physical preferences (yep, even though the show’s conceit is falling in love sight-unseen, the producers still want to know).

If your application captures the producers’ attention, Driscoll explained what might happen next. “We use that application as the entry point to go into a Skype interview, where we dig a lot deeper,” she said back in 2020. “The Skype interviews will be anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour, some even go longer than that.”

What does Love Is Blind want to see from potential contestants in the application process? “I think that they’re genuine,” Driscoll told Screen Rant. “If they are excited about the opportunity. If that can come across some way and if a lot of their answers lead with love.”

'Love is Blind' says it's an experiment. Scientists say attraction is more arbitrary

In the popular reality TV show Love is Blind, contestants date each other while in "pods" where they cannot see each other.

Netflix wraps up its sixth season of its popular reality TV show Love is Blind tomorrow with a highly anticipated reunion show. The show, which bills itself as a "social experiment," gathers contestants together who all seemingly believe in the premise that love is not based on physical appearance – and is instead based on a deep, intimate connection with another person.

In the show, men and women all "date" for about a week without ever seeing each other. To keep the contestants hidden from their possible love matches, they each conduct their dates inside a separate pod, with a wall separating them. After their week of "dating" is complete, the couples can choose to get engaged, after which they finally get to see each other.

Despite its far-fetched premise, the show is a hit – with the series being the most-watched reality show on Netflix in 2023 .

The success rate of its dating formula for contestants is also higher than other dating-focused reality TV shows like The Bachelor or Love Island . In six seasons, Love is Blind has made eight successful couples, while The Bachelor franchise has only had six.

The secret to lasting love might just be knowing how to fight

So does that mean love really is blind? Well, according to anthropologists and psychologists who study attraction, romantic love is based more on unique and distinctive characteristics than just physical attraction.

"Often, when we're talking about the question 'is love blind,' we're actually talking about our tendency to overlook certain qualities in a person when we're in love,". Helen Fisher, a biological anthropologist and the author of the book "Anatomy of Love."

But the possible idealizing of your partner in the early stages of dating doesn't mean you can completely ignore physical attraction. It plays an important role in the steps leading up to long-term, romantic love.

In season five of the show, newly engaged couple Abhishek "Shake" Chatterjee and Deepti Vempati begin having trouble after exiting the "pods," where two couldn't see each other. Chatterjee, repeatedly tells other contestants on the show that he's not physically attracted to Vempati.

"It feels like I'm with my aunt or something," Chatterjee tells Jarette Jones, another contestant on the show.

Vempati ultimately calls the engagement off after multiple people, including Chatterjee's mother, tell her that she deserves better. Her decision to end the engagement was also influenced by her realizing that Chatterjee had been making comments about her behind her back. In the last episode of the season, Vempati revealed that she also had reservations about their physical chemistry, since Chatterjee wasn't someone who was normally her "physical type."

Romantic advice (regardless of your relationship status)

Romantic advice (regardless of your relationship status)

"I don't fault Shake for not finding me physically attractive or having that chemistry," she said in the season two finale of the show. "Like, you can't really fault someone for that."

That doesn't mean that couples have to see each other to develop romantic feelings for each other, Paul Eastwick, a professor of psychology at the University of California, Davis told NPR's Leila Fadel. After all, there are many instances of people having successful relationships without having seen the person first. But, people do desire romantic partners they personally find physically attractive.

"It can change the way you see someone," Eastwick told NPR's Morning Edition.

In Eastwick's own research, he's proposed that there are fourteen core principles needed to study close relationships. None of these have to do with physical features, but rather things like cultural norms, responses to stress and the opportunities that partners have to integrate each other into their lives.

Relationships are also built on the unique patterns of partners that are created when two people decide to pursue a relationship.

"Love is idiosyncratic," Eastwick said. "It's based on your experience with another person."

There are signs that physical attraction changes as a relationship progresses. This shift in physical attraction includes couples reporting that they have less sex as they get older, though that doesn't mean that the two don't find each other physically attractive at all.

"Usually, couples still think their partner is the most attractive person in the room," Eastwick said. "Because they know that's their person."

Couples who have gotten married after meeting on Love is Blind have talked about how their relationship changed after they saw each other for the first time.

Cameron Hamilton, who was on the very first season of Love is Blind , called it a dream to be able to finally meet his fiancee, Lauren Speed Hamilton, for the first time.

"I'm not just in love with how gorgeous she is, but the person she is," Hamilton said on the show.

In an interview with Tamron Hall, his now wife, Speed Hamilton, said that the experience helped them keep their emotional connection at the forefront of their relationship.

"The way that we met each other, since we couldn't see each other, so it was all about conversation, we just kind of kept that going throughout our marriage," she told Hall.

The two are still together, and celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in November 2023.

Speed-Hamilton admitted that before she saw her future husband, she was nervous that she wouldn't find him attractive. However, she was willing to give it a try because of the relationship they had developed before they had even seen each other.

"Sometimes, attraction grows," she said. "There is nothing more attractive than someone who treats you right and loves you properly."

The Love Is Blind Experiment Finally Broke

love is blind experiment sign up

We’re now seven episodes into Love Is Blind ’s fifth season , and the mess is everywhere . At the end of episode four , the Netflix reality dating show revealed that Uche and Lydia, two contestants who were supposed to be complete strangers, had actually been in a long-term relationship prior to appear on the show. Not only that, but Uche and Lydia had recognized each other on their first day in the pods and kept this information secret from the other contestants until they were both in serious relationships with other people. This discovery led to an enormous breakup between Uche and Aaliyah , the woman he’d grown close with in the pods, and fed the ongoing tension among Uche, Lydia, and Milton, the man Lydia eventually became engaged to.

And that’s just one little corner of the Love Is Blind season-five chaos! There’s also JP and Taylor, who got engaged at the end of the pods only to discover that in fact they sort of hated each other by the time they got to Mexico. There’s Uche’s growing conspiracy-theorist paranoia about Lydia’s involvement in the show. By episode seven , Uche, Lydia, Milton, engaged couple Izzy and Stacy, and improbable post-pod relationship Johnie and Chris end up in a nasty battle royale over trust and loyalty and truth and authenticity and Lord even knows what. It’s a trash heap! The mood is “in shambles!” Let’s talk about it.

Kathryn VanArendonk: One of Love Is Blind ’s greatest strengths as a reality franchise is that each season has entirely its own mood. Because so much of the season is driven by unpredictable intercast dynamics, and because each season is set in a different city, Love Is Blind has been able to dodge the impersonal, producer-defined blandness that can make a dating show grow stale over time. Every new group has its own distinct flavor of romance and its own unmistakable whiff of catastrophe.

So my opening question to you, Dee, is this: How would you define what’s going on in season five? What’s the mood?

Dee Lockett: Where to even begin. The mood is Love Is Blurry ’cause this season makes me feel drunk and dizzy … but I’m addicted to the mess? For at least the past two seasons, there’s been a growing sense that both Netflix and this show’s producers have lost the plot on the Experiment that this thing was based around, opting instead to let the contestants pull all the imaginary levers. What Lydia — and I guess Uche, too, but I can’t pay that man any compliments — did was Oz-level masterminding and then what Aaliyah did in turn, choosing to exclude herself from this whole narrative for the time being … producers can’t write that kind of reality TV, baby. That’s Kris Jenner Bossing Up. What do y’all make of what has transpired thus far?

KVA: No question this season feels like it’s spun the farthest away from the original intended Experiment, at least as we saw it in the earliest seasons. That episode four reveal?! It’s the first time this show has played with our sense of what’s fair game to hide from viewers. We all know that every reality show edits around the raw footage, but that kind of Rashomon rewind back to the beginning is a much sneakier edit than a straight dating show is typically willing to perform! And yeah, it’s contributed to a sense of chaos that’s different from previous seasons. The mere presence of the pod squad this late in the season is evidence that the format’s been shaken up and reworked. But I’m curious whether this is the sort of thing that feels like it will change the show forever, in the way that major strategy shifts on Survivor have permanently changed the game, or whether you think this kind of mess will be contained to season five.

Nic Juarez: The Survivor comparison is one I’ve been thinking about for a few seasons now. More and more, the pods portion feels like the pre-merge part of Survivor : People are having intense conversations to see if they can trust each other to continue in the game, weighing their options, and cutting people loose in favor of someone they vibe with more. Look at Izzy, who had three ( three! ) women to choose from in Lydia, Johnie, and Stacy. In particular, when he broke up with Johnie toward the end of their time in the pods, she went back to Chris, whom she originally broke up with in favor of Izzy. It felt like watching someone scramble fifteen minutes before Tribal Council.

Season five thus far feels like it’s being defined by competing narratives. That’s obviously because of Uche and Lydia’s prior history, but it’s also because of the casts’ personalities. There’s the meta factor, too: At this point in the series’ run, the participants know that unless you have a magical, drama-free ride to the altar (and you never know what you’re gonna get with the edit!), there is a fair amount of damage control necessary when the show is over. It seems to be making them hyperaware of the camera and encouraging them to work closely with producers to make sure their versions of events are the ones that stick. Johnie revising her story to Chris and Izzy is one example, but nothing really compares to Uche’s phone conversation with Aaliyah as far as having the last word.

DL: Wow, I hadn’t made that Survivor connection, and now it’s the only way I’ll be able to analyze this show going forward. You’re both so right; this season has been excessively focused on making alliances and spinning truths that you almost forget “the point” is to “find love.” There were ulterior editing motives at play, but even putting so much spotlight on the female friendships in the pods (particularly Lydia and Aaliyah’s) and then making so much of the competing blowups at this mini-reunion focus on who was a shittier “friend” in the pods is deeply telling of what this show now considers its main selling point. (This is also the most transparent LIB has been about selling its remaining singles to the audiences of other Netflix reality shows — shout-out to you, Blonde Pod Girlie. See you on Perfect Match .) It’s almost like they don’t want you to notice there are only two couples left standing to pretend to care about.

What did you both think of how JT and Taylor’s implosion played out? I thought the producers closed the loop on that too soon, but again, they got outgamed the same way they did with Johnie and Chris reconnecting at the airport post-pods. (WHERE WAS THAT REVEAL FOOTAGE???)

KVA: It’s one of the things that still makes this particular dating series so much more compelling than most. The shift between the highly regulated pod space back to something like “real life,” the way contestants can actually leave whenever they decide to, the occasional incursion of very grounded pressures like credit-card debit and long commutes and how many hours a day people work … All of it turns Love Is Blind into a show where sometimes, people just end up running into each other at the airport. And we all have to live with it!

The JP-Taylor breakdown, to me, played out exactly the way it should have. She was bored with that man, and I don’t think they could’ve spent much longer trying to create television of her dragging each vowel and consonant out of him like she’s hauling buckets of water up from a well. I did also think about the quiet, side-stage features of the season that now seem more obvious than they have in the past, things that appear onscreen more and can demonstrate that Love Is Blind wants to be a comfortable, understanding space. Taylor can decide to leave, even though they went to Mexico! Aaliyah can leave, too! Look at all this food everywhere! Snacks and love and freedom of movement!

DL: Okay, correction: They closed the loop too soon on Taylor . JP can go get lost in a Sephora and never return :)

NJ: I echo all of what you said about what makes this show so compelling, Kathryn. To paraphrase an observation you made about Succession not really being about who sits atop the Waystar throne, Love Is Blind is hardly about who gets to the altar and says “I do,” but more about the millions of tiny compromises made in getting there, the suspense of asking ourselves if this is the red flag that compels someone to tap out. The JP-and-Taylor breakup is just as interesting as, if not more interesting than, watching some couples make it all the way to the end. What the hell happened there? I felt so bad for Taylor, who was communicating her insecurities and asking for a morsel of reassurance from JP, and all he could do was sit by silently in American-flag-themed swimwear. Maybe Taylor could have lasted a few more weeks making tiny compromises, but his blaming his shyness on her wearing makeup during the reveal? Be fucking for real. And then having exes see each other in Mexico and the “real world” and mixing their pod baggage with real-life baggage? It’s good stuff. On the surface, sure, it’s about getting two people to march down the aisle and the suspense of what they’ll say. But to me, it’s more about creating an environment that reveals the humanity (and cruelty) of these people as they’re falling in love or breaking up.

KVA: Speaking of creating an environment, one of the very quiet but most fascinating things about Love Is Blind is the way it becomes a sideways portrait of what dating scenes are like in different cities. Season four was set in Seattle, and it had such a different overall tone — a little calmer, a little more adult, very focused on performances of authenticity and maturity. This season is set in Houston and … I don’t know, Houston seems like a lot to me.

DL: Houston bad! And now Drake’s a resident!?!?! I can’t tell if it’s the city or the producers. but the casting this season felt especially partial toward a specific type: Hot Hustlers. They checked all the boxes ranging from the seriously employed (Lydia and Milton) to the vaguely employed (Stacy) to the questionably employed (Miriam; sorry, girl) to the definitely not employed (Izzy; not sorry) to I don’t even know what Uche’s real deal is but I’m not buying a word that man says. It’s the most flagrantly dishonest bunch yet in a season that benefits from skewing mostly older; it’s no coincidence that the ones most in over their heads, Milton, Taylor, and Izzy, were under 30 during filming. There’s just something so compelling — so relatable? –– about watching adults self-sabotage while thinking they’re in full control. The best examples of that, to me, are Stacy and Lydia, who seem to speed through every red flag gleefully blind folded. Izzy masking his financial troubles? Milton lacking home training? And don’t get me started on Uche’s inability to recognize himself as a walking stop sign.

NJ: A city’s dating scene is always vaguely highlighted, but this is the first time we’ve had two people with prior dating history on the show … and they are main characters! I know it goes against everything the Experiment stands for, but I thank the Netflix Mess gods it happened because it made for the most exciting, combustible moments in the show’s history. If we look at the ensuing chaos, there’s a case to be made for including more exes. Lydia spilling all the tea on Uche to Aaliyah? Inspiring. Uche proposing to an empty pod? Art! Uche showing up to the pod squad’s night out with an agenda of exposing Lydia as the saboteur of his Love Is Blind experience? Wretched-main-character energy! And I’m sorry, but his claims that Lydia is a “stalker” had me screaming at my television. The text messages of screenshots of her viewing Instagram Stories do not hold up in court.

DL: The audacity of Uche to think Milton is even remotely invested in what happens to him, and now this mini-reunion’s gotta drag into a two-parter so Uche can have an “I come to you as a man” moment with Milton. As if Uche is even remotely invested in what happens to Milton, to Milton and Lydia, and especially to Lydia, whose voice he could not even recognize! Give me strength. Give me tequila.

KVA: In the name of the pods and the opaque wine glasses and the disembodied producer voice, amen.

How to get on 'Love Is Blind'

"Love Is Blind" Season Four hasn't finished airing, but plans are already in place for the future seasons of the show.

According to an Instagram post from Kinetic Content, the production company behind the reality show as well as shows like "Married at First Sight ," the show is currently looking for singles in Denver, Washington, D.C., and the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul) for its future confirmed seasons .

"Attention all SINGLES!!! Kinetic Content casting is back at it and accepting Love Is Blind applications from not one, but three cities! You heard that right! We are currently looking for brave singles who are interested in a serious commitment! Swipe to see where we’re looking NOW," the post reads.

Want to enter one of the pods on the experimental dating show and potentially leave engaged ? Here are a few of the 78 questions you’ll have to answer on the application.

First, the basics

Naturally, the application wants to know who you are. Not who you are on the inside, necessarily, but your name and contact information.

Applications start by filling out basic information like name, age, date of birth, location, phone number, email, sexual orientation and your highest level of education.

Prospective pod-daters also have to provide three references, perhaps to vet everything listed above.

The pods are about physical anonymity — but the application isn't

While dating in the pods happens without seeing potential matches face-to-face, the application has questions about physical appearances.

Applicants have to provide their eye and hair color, their "best face photo" and a complete body shot.

Your social media accounts. All of them!

Applicants also have to provide social media handles across all platforms — everything from your Facebook and Instagram to Twitter and TikTok, and even Skype.

Don't forget the video statement

Applicants also have to film a 15-second video of themselves explaining why they're "ready to find love in the pods."

Fess up your dating history

After going over the basics, the application inquires into the juicy stuff — a.k.a the topics that will surely come up in the pods. Think: Past relationships, marriages and thoughts on children (whether you have them, and whether you want them).

Applicants are prompted to "take a moment to briefly describe (their) dating history," and are encouraged to add the longest relationship they've been in and how long they've been single.

You'll also find probing questions like "why do you think you are single?" and "why are you a catch?" here.

Say what you're looking for in a relationship

The application also gets down to the nitty gritty of a person's ideal partner. It prompts applicants to answer questions like:

  • "What are the top three qualities you look for in a mate?"
  • "What are your deal breakers?"
  • What does your perfect match look like physically? What physical traits are you not attracted to?

And what your relationship deal breakers are

The application wants to know what applicants are looking for — and what they're avoiding.

There are sections for dealbreakers of the religious, ethnic and cultural variety, as well as the general type. The application also asks whether smoking is a dealbreaker.

A few other general questions

Heavy-hitting questions about love, dating, family, values keep coming. Consider bringing them to your next first date.

  • "If we were to ask your friends and family to describe you in a relationship, what would they say?"
  • "Why is marriage important to you?"
  • "What is the most difficult situation you’ve had to overcome?"
  • "What accomplishments in your life are you most proud of that you would want to share in the pods?"
  • "What is something you would be hesitant to share in the pods?"

Why 'Love Is Blind'?

Truth be told, there are less involved ways to meet a match than going on a Netflix dating show. So, why get engaged in this specific process? The application has show-specific questions like:

  • “What has been missing emotionally from previous relationships that you hope to find through this experience?”
  • "What about this experiment appeals to you the most and why?"
  • "Why do you need 'Love Is Blind' in your life now?"
  • "What do you think about falling in love and getting engaged sight unseen?"

The application also seems to indicate when the next seasons are filming

The application asks whether applicants have any conflicts from Oct. 1 to Nov. 20, 2023, potential filming dates.

It also wants to know if applicants have a valid passport, if they've ever applied to a television show before and how they found out about the casting.

After all that, all applicants have to do is sign their name, date their answers and they're good to go. Good luck.

The Hidden Psychology That Drives "Love Is Blind"

Human instincts to project and attach virtually guarantee "love" on the show..

By this point, plenty of jaded viewers dismiss reality television as hollow. Yet, with all its drama, the popular reality series "Love Is Blind" reveals the core of how we love.

It’s no secret that fantasy thrives in darkness and withers in the cold light of day. Just think of the low lighting of romantic restaurants or movie theaters—or the tragic success of online dating scams.

It is this positive projection of fantasy that underpins the success of "Love Is Blind." The less that is known about a potential mate, the more blank space there is onto which fantasy can be projected.

A pressure cooker for “love”

In the show, singles are given 10 days to choose a mate, fall in love, and get engaged—all before ever seeing their intended. In this romance pressure cooker, some couples do proceed to marriage .

However, it’s the courting phase that’s so compelling for many viewers. Each season, contestants say how shocked they are to experience such depth of emotion for someone they’ve never seen.

But when we recognize how the show manipulates psychological levers of the attachment drive, projection, and even the power of voice, it’s obvious why contestants have such strong feelings.

Switching on the attachment drive

Although "Love Is Blind" contestants start out as strangers, they know marriage is on the table. Of course, this is on purpose.

By framing the dating process as leading to marriage, the show activates contestants’ innate attachment drive.

It might seem strange to mention newborn babies when discussing romance, but the drive to find a significant other is similar to a newborn’s drive to find an attachment figure. From day one of a baby’s life, forming a bond to a primary attachment figure is a matter of survival.

Likewise, when contestants’ attachment mechanism is turned “on” thanks to the "Love Is Blind" mission of finding a spouse, attaching becomes a goal. When that mission is switched on, it unleashes the intensity of a human survival drive.

The good-enough principle

At the start of "Love Is Blind," contestants meet a variety of potential mates. A romantic interpretation could be this is a soul’s search for its one match. But psychology gives us a more grounded interpretation of who’s being sought: a person who checks enough primary-attachment-figure boxes.

It’s the search for the good-enough mate.

If we found each contestant in babyhood, they would have the same basic criteria of responsive, attuned parenting (Ainsworth, 1969). As long as those are met, secure attachment can proceed.

For babies, if the biological mother is unavailable, any consistent, caring person can fill that mother figure role. Similarly, on "Love Is Blind," some contestants switch between different fiancees, expressing intense infatuation throughout. If one potential partner fails, another will do.

Although this deflates the aura of romance, it also shows the remarkable adaptability of the human attachment drive.

Courtesy: Netflix

Positive projection is a natural part of attachment

When "Love Is Blind" participants ooh and aah over the disembodied voice of a never-seen mate, it’s clear fantasy is playing a role.

There’s nothing wrong with this. We need positive projection to attach.

Fantasy facilitates the bonding process from birth—just think of how babies are wired to expect a responsive environment when they cry, even if they’re only seconds old.

Likewise, if an adult is primed to believe they’re speaking with their future spouse, their psyche unconsciously fills in any gaps of information with an image of Mr./Ms. Right. No wonder primal emotions are released!

When a "Love Is Blind" contestant tears up at the voice of their never-seen beloved, this is not evidence Netflix facilitated a once-in-a-million match. It’s evidence that attachment opens the floodgates to feelings of deep wellness, completion, and elation—whether grounded in reality or not.

It’s evidence of the depth of emotion released in the process of human attachment.

Want intense emotion? Get archetypal

"Love Is Blind" contestants have described feeling like they were under a spell, and there’s a psychological process that explains this.

Again, it’s fantasy! Positive projection, to be exact.

love is blind experiment sign up

Idealization is a shortcut to intense emotion. To encourage this, "Love Is Blind" carefully restricts contestants’ access to reality. Potential fantasy-ruining visual and physical contact is only allowed after the stakes have been raised by getting engaged.

This much-anticipated “reveal” consists of a choreographed love-at-first-sight scene, complete with flowers, dramatic lighting, and red carpet. Distortions of reality continue with exotic paradise vacations and the confining four-week wedding countdown.

The "Love Is Blind" recipe for archetypal levels of “love”? Fan the flames of fantasy and raise the stakes of disillusionment.

The power of voice in attachment

There’s one more dial the show cleverly manipulates to make “love” likelier—and it’s a surprise twist.

By narrowing input to voice, "Love Is Blind" harkens back to contestants’ earliest days of life, when voice was a major characteristic of an attachment figure.

In our visually saturated culture, especially when watching television, we can underestimate the importance of sound. Yet, on day one of life, before a newborn can see clearly, voice helps them recognize their caregiver . For example, I’ll never forget how my hours-old son instantly swiveled his head when I spoke to him after a brief separation. Voice pointed him toward his attachment figure.

Voice is central, and we don’t need to see someone to attach to them. In fact, if we don’t see them, any connection that forms might feel even more primal—and powerful.

"Love Is Blind" has hammered out the factors that encourage rapid attachment and primal emotions.

It might seem astonishing to fall in love with a fantasy, but it’s actually predictable. The real experiment is whether the contestants remain married after the show biz dust has dissolved and couples can experience each other clearly, in the light of day.

The only ones “blind” are those who don’t yet recognize the power of projection. Netflix knew the whole time.

Love is Blind UK: Which couples are still together from the 2024 cast?

Six couples took the plunge and got engaged in love is blind uk but not all of them made it to 'i do' on the big day.

The first UK series of popular Netflix dating show Love is Blind has just drawn to a close, leaving fans scrambling to find out whether their favourite couple has made it work off camera.

After numerous series featuring love-seeking singletons from across the globe, the long-awaited first series of Love is Blind UK proved to be a drama-filled hit.

While many prospective couples failed to find the desired spark, a handful of Britons appeared to emerge from the show with a new life partner.

But have these whirlwind relationships stood the test of time since filming ended?

Ahead of this series’ reunion episode – which is set to air on Netflix on Monday 26 August at 9pm – here’s what we know about which Love is Blind UK couples are still currently together, and which have broken up.

Which couples from Love is Blind UK are still together?

It’s safe to say the Love is Blind experiment has far from a 100 per cent success rate.

But for a few couples, it may have done the trick.

Here are the couples who got married in the Love is Blind UK series one finale.

Sabrina and Steven

Belfast-born Sabrina Egerton and Brummie-turned-Londoner Steven Smith hit it off early on and never looked back.

They were the first couple to get engaged in the pods and followed that up by becoming the first pair to tie the knot in the finale.

Each of them recently shared pictures on social media from London and Ireland, respectively, fueling speculation that they are indeed still together now – something which will no doubt be confirmed in the reunion episode, if not before.

Benaiah and Nicole

These two had a much less straightforward journey into each other’s arms, but eventually overcame a fiery love triangle to end up together and say “I do” at the end of series one.

29-year-old Nicole Stevens from Surrey hasn’t given much away on her social media, while 33-year-old Benaiah Grunewald Brydie from Preston has posted slightly more about the show but is still – as the contestants are always requested to do by producers prior to the finale and subsequent reunion airing – keeping his cards close to his chest.

But if the loved-up vibes from the finale are anything to go by, fans should expect to see the couple sat happily together on their screens on Monday.

Bobby and Jasmine

The path to true love has not run entirely smoothly for Bobby and Jasmine.

The London-based mental health nurse, 29, hit it off with both Bobby and Sam at the start of the show but doubts about the latter’s authenticity led her to spend more time with Bobby.

When Bobby, 33, opened up about the death of his cousin, Jasmine was moved by his vulnerability.

“I want to be your safe space to tell me anything that’s on your mind,” she said, “You are an outstanding guy.”

The luxury shopping guide had no doubts about his feelings for Jasmine, he said: “For me, it’s been quite apparent from the start that Jasmine was the girl for me.”

But Jasmine’s mum did throw a spanner in the works when she voiced hers, saying she though they were rushing into things.

Nonetheless, she eventually gave her blessing and the couple married.

And the couple’s comments after the wedding suggest it is a long-term commeitment.

Jasmine described it as a “forever type of love” while Bobby said it was “only the beginning of our journey”.

Which Love is Blind UK couples have broken up?

For every successful couple of the six that made it out of the pods, there was a story that ended in apparent heartbreak when the series finale aired.

Three of the couples on the show didn’t make it to the happily ever after scene on screen but you can never say never in the language of love.

Maria and Tom

From very different backgrounds, Maria and Tom tried to bridge their cultural divides to make it work.

Make-up artist Maria, 30, from a religious Moroccan community, and 38-year-old PR and advertising consultant Tom, struggled to find common ground on their roles in a marriage.

Maria said she pictured herself in a more “traditional” role, taking care of their children while Tom said he did not expect to be in a relationship with a stay-at-home mum.

In the run-up to their wedding, Maria cried in the confessional interviews and on the day Tom admitted he couldn’t go through with it.

“I love you. I just feel like right now is not the right time for me,” he said. “We’ve had some differences in values.

“I haven’t had enough time to really understand how those differences would affect our life day to day.”

Maria said she had wanted to get married but added: “I know it probably wasn’t the right time for both of us.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/C-7L8TrInJC

Demi and Ollie

The last couple to get engaged during the show, Demi and Ollie built up slowly to their proposal.

They bonded over their London upbringings, shared love of sport and cheeky sense of humour.

And when safeguarding and attendance manager Demi, 30, shares her fears about fertility because of endometriosis, Ollie is quick to reassure here.

The 33-year-old software salesman said: “It doesn’t change anything about the way I feel about you or how I feel about our future.”

Love appears to bloom both on the couples’ ‘honeymoon’ retreat in Greece and back home in London, but when it comes to their wedding day Demi says no to the vows because her “head and here heart were not aligned”.

However, all may not be lost for this couple’s future.

Refusing to make the vows, Demi said it was only “I do not, for now” adding “honestly, the time we’ve spent, I feel like you’ve seen me, and I love you for that.”

While in interview afterwards, an optimistic Ollie said: “It’s sad, and I’m emotional, and it has been one hell of a journey, but I found true love with someone, so I’m happy.

“This is not the end of Demi and Ollie, not by a long shot.”

Catherine and Freddie

At first Catherine appears torn between Ollie and Freddie but eventually bonds with the 32-year-old funeral director over a shared love of family and twice-daily workouts.

After issues over infidelity and flirting appear to be resolved, the couple get engaged but then hit a new hurdle over finances.

Freddie said: “It worries me that if we were to get married, legally you’ll be entitled to my money… would you be offended if I was to get something in place to say that my assets would be going to say, my sister, if I were to pass away.”

This appears to be a step too far for 29-year-old dental nurse Catherine, who replied: “That sucks that you said that.

“I wouldn’t expect anything.

“If you don’t want to get married, just tell me.”

When it comes to the final moment to exchange vows, Catherine nervously said ‘I do’ but Freddie backed out, saying: “I love you Cat, but the timing might not be right for us.”

However, he hasn’t written the relationship off completely, saying later: “I want her in my life, and I’m hoping the things we do need to work on are things we can overcome and that will make us stronger.”

Love Is Blind may not have the highest success rates, but some viewers are interested in joining the reality dating show and getting a shot at love. Love Is Blind first appeared on Netflix over two years ago with an innovative dating experiment that blew viewers away. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, there was a two-year gap between the first and second season. However, its success led to seasons 2 and 3 being filmed back to back and season 4 following closely behind.

A few weeks ago, Netflix released season 3 with 30 new singles searching for love in Dallas, Texas. While stars like Nancy Rodriguez and Love Is Blind' s Bartise Bowden struggled to make a connection, other stars like Alexa Alfia and Brennon Lemieux thrived. As more co-stars find the love they're searching for, fans are interested in trying the love experiment.

Love Is Blind Season 3's Zanab Jaffrey and Cole Barnett

According to announcements, Love Is Blind filmed season 4 in Seattle. However, in late September 2022, Netflix released a casting call, likely for season 5. Currently, the only requirement is to live in the same city where filming occurs. Considering the experiment includes moving in together, meeting each other’s prospective families, and getting married, this appears to be a reasonable request. Alas, it’s not clear if it’s a national casting call that the producer will narrow after they receive applicants or if they chose a location already.

Nonetheless, Donna Driscoll, head of casting call, stated two years ago that Love Is Blind applicants, like Zanab Jaffrey and Cole Barnett should apply regardless to keep their names on the list for the future. Applicants can use LoveIsBlind.CastingCrane.com to submit a 15-second video, pictures, and answer profiling questions. If an applicant appears to be a good fit, then the crew will set up a Skype interview that can last an hour or longer. To increase the chances of success, the producers are looking for genuine excitement and authentic answers coming from a place of love.

In the end, Love is Blind provides applicants with an opportunity to find love in a new and exciting way. Not all couples made it to the altar. However, many duos like season 1’s Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton are still married and doing well. With the next two seasons already lined up, it looks like the reality show is here to stay and fans are looking forward to watching the newest stars determine if Love is Blind .

Love Is Blind AD Clay

SPOILER ALERT:  This post contains spoilers from Seasons 1-6 of “Love Is Blind,” streaming now on Netflix .

“ Love Is Blind ” has asked a question for six seasons now: Is love really blind? The experiment, during which singles date and get engaged before ever meeting, has been successful for some. Others, not so much.

Over the course of the six seasons, not every individual who gets down on one knee is on camera. The first two seasons of the Kinetic Content-produced series featured engagements that didn’t make it to air; during Season 1, Danielle Drouin got engaged to Rory Newrough and Lexie Skipper was set to marry Westley Baer; In Season 2, Catilin McKee and Joey Miller and Jason Beaumont and Kara Williams got engaged. All four couples split before tying the knot.

Logistically, it’s impossible to follow every couple — so it’s a bit of “guesswork” that goes into who producers chose to film, creator Chris Coelen told Variety after Season 2.

“In Season 1, we were following Kenny Barnes and Kelly Chase, and we were like, it’s gonna be so boring. They’re gonna say yes, and, of course, they’re getting married. And they didn’t,” he shared. “We had no idea and continue to have no idea what’s going to happen in the stories that we choose.”

During Season 3, only five couples got engaged so all of their journeys were shown. While all of the pairs made it to the altar, they didn’t all make it much further. Season 4 was pretty similar — and included multiple splits before the altar. Season 5 only followed three couples and one split right after the pods. Season 6 followed five, with two making it to the altar.

Below, Variety breaks down each couple who got engaged in the pods and where they stand now.

During Season 3, Zanab and Cole butted heads multiple times, including when he told her that she was a “nine” while Colleen was a 10. Maybe the most shocking twist of the season, Zack broke up with Irina Solomonova after they got engaged in the pods and revealed he actually wanted to rekindle his romance with Bliss. With that, he was able to date Bliss after they met and they got engaged. They both said yes at the altar — and were still happily married during the reunion.

While both Jimmy and Chelsea were dating others in the pods — for Jimmy, Jessica Vestal, and for Cheslea, Trevor Sova — they ultimately got engaged in Season 6. Unfortunately, they didn’t make it to the altar as he said he wasn’t ready.

After a strange dating experience with Matthew Duliba in the Season 6 pods, Amber chose to get engaged with Clay Gravesande, despite his red flags. While she said yes, Gravesande ultimately said he loved her but he doesn’t “think it’s responsible for me to say, ‘I do.'” In turn, she was not happy. During the reunion, he revealed that he regetted saying no and feels that A.D. is the love of his life.

Jeramey Lutinski and Laura Dadisman

Love is Blind. (L to R) Jeramey, Laura in episode 605 of Love is Blind. Cr. Courtesy of Netflix © 2024

In Season 6, Jeramey Lutinski got engaged to Laura Dadisman. However, after he spent too much time (and a full night) hanging out with Sarah Ann Bick from the pods, Dadisman ended their relationship. At the reunion, Sarah Ann and Jeramey revealed they had been together ever since the show ended. In fall 2024, she shared that they had split.

Brittany Mills and Ken Gorham

The young pair bonded over their faith and got engaged in the pods during Season 6. Unfortunately, she didn’t feel a romantic connection and they ended their relationship before getting to the altar.

Love Is Blind’s Jeramey Lutinski and Sarah Ann: A Timeline of Their Relationship

Love Is Blinds Jeramey Lutinski and Sarah Ann

Jeramey Lutinski and Sarah Ann Bick may not have gotten engaged inside the Love Is Blind pods, but they dated after the experiment.

The reality TV stars sparked an instantaneous pod bond during season 6 of the Netflix dating experiment, which was filmed in March 2023. Jeramey, however, was also interested in Laura Dadisman and ultimately decided to propose to her instead of Sarah Ann.

Jeramey and Laura’s relationship quickly broke down when they transitioned from the pods to the real world, with Laura accusing her then-fiancé of having an affair with Sarah Ann.

“You left at 10:45 [p.m.] and were out ‘till 5-something in the f—king morning,” Laura said during episode 9, confronting Jeramey the next day. “The bars close at 2. What were you doing until 5:00 in the morning? I don’t see why you can’t just answer the question.”

Laura, who had been tracking Jeramey’s location thanks to a location-sharing app, theorized that he slept over at Sarah Ann’s house since he was nowhere near the bar. Jeramey and Sarah Ann have both denied hooking up at that point.

“We hung back and we talked about things,” he told Laura. “I understand how that can look. I understand how that can come across. As an extra layer of reassurance, like, I shared my location with you just so you know exactly where I was at.”

Laura did not believe Jeramey’s assurances and wanted out of their engagement. He eventually started dating Sarah Ann again, revealing during the season 6 reunion that they had moved in together.

A Pod Love Triangle

Jeramey was invested in pursuing relationships with both Laura and Sarah Ann, even telling each woman that he could see a future with them.

Not Meant to Be

Ultimately, Jeramey decided to break up with Sarah Ann and proposed to Laura. Sarah Ann left the show alone as a result.

Meeting up again.

After Jeramey and Laura met in person, they joined the other engaged couples at a post-pod getaway in the Dominican Republic. Once they returned home, Jeramey wasted no time hitting the town with his buddies. One night, he met up with his friends at local Charlotte bar Lost and Found and ran into Sarah Ann.

“She comes over to me and is like, ‘Hi, Jeramey,’ hugs me, walks away,” he recalled to Laura after the fact. “I’m like, ‘What was that?’ Then I found out that she’s upset about a lot of things. We hung back and we talked about things.”

Jeramey and Sarah Ann kept talking until 5:00 a.m., sparking Laura’s fears that her partner cheated on her.

Sarah Ann also slid into Jeramey’s DMs, asking for another shot should his relationship status change.

Riding Off Into the Sunset

After Jeramey and Laura split, they separately hit up the cast’s lake party. There, he reunited with Sarah Ann and they left together on jet skis.

Something More?

As Love Is Blind season 6 aired on Netflix, eagle-eyed fans were curious about where Jeramey and Sarah Ann stood after filming. She posted a solo TikTok from inside his house before noting via her Instagram that she “couldn’t be happier” and called their lake party reunion a “beautiful thing.”

Reunion Bliss

Jeramey and Sarah Ann gave fans an update on their relationship during the reunion, which was filmed in March 2024.

“We’ve been dating for almost a year now,” Sarah Ann gushed to hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey . “We live together.”

Fellow contestant Chelsea Blackwell then claimed that the pair had broken up several times, but Jeramey and Sarah Ann asserted that they were always able to work things out.

Sarah Ann snapped an Instagram pic of the pair enjoying the California sunshine after the reunion. Several hours later, Jeramey took to his social media to apologize for his on-camera actions.

“I did go [on the show] to meet somebody and it was a hell of a ride to get where I’m sitting right now,” he noted via Instagram Story.

September 2024

Sarah Ann confirmed the pair’s split in an Instagram Story post.

“I think it’s time to address the end of my relationship with Jeramey,” she wrote on September 24. “Not that it’s necessary or that I feel obligated to do so, but I’d love to offer my side of the story for those who are curious.”

She continued, “I still get a lot of people asking if we’re together, letting me know he is dating other people [and] on apps, etc. For my healing and growth, and because I’m still in the pursuit of finding my true love, I’d like to end the questions and rumors.”

Sarah Ann then asked for “questions” from her followers to divulge more.

"Love is Blind," the popular Netflix reality dating show and social experiment, is now casting in Denver, according to a post by its production company Kinetic Content.

How it works: Fifteen men and 15 women, all from the same metro area, are put into separate "pods" where they can talk to — but not see — their date. The goal is to fall in love and get engaged without ever knowing what the other looks like.

  • Then, the engaged couple meets in person, goes on a trip with the other couples and moves to an apartment in the city they live in for four weeks.
  • At the end, the couple will get married or reject each other at the altar.

Of note: Though Love is Blind reportedly pays contestants around $1,000/week, couples who get married don't receive any prize (other than love).

What to know : The 78-question application includes questions like “Why are you a catch?” and “What are your thoughts on the dating scene in your city?”

  • Applicants must also submit all their social media handles.

Reality check: Three completed seasons of the show are out now, and only four of the 17 engaged couples are still together.

  • Season four — set in Seattle — airs through April 14.

Zoom out: Denver's no stranger to reality shows. Last summer, Netflix premiered "How to Build a Sex Room," a new show that helped Denver locals transform a boring bedroom or dingy basement into sensual, sex-positive spaces.
