K-12 Teachers Guide (TG) and Learners Material (LM) are resources used in preparing daily lessons. Additional resources from the Department of Education include materials from the Learning Resources Management and Development System ( LRMDS ) portal, textbooks, and others supplementary materials, whether digital, multimedia, or online, including those that are teacher-made. However, these materials should be used by teachers as resources, not as the curriculum.

Assessment is a continuous, planned process using various forms of tasks in order to identify, gather and interpret information about the performance of students. It involves the processes of generating and collecting evidence of achievement, evaluating this evidence, recording the findings and using this information to understand and assist in the learner’s development in order to improve the process of learning and teaching. Assessment should be both informal (assessment for learning) and formal (assessment of learning). In both cases regular feedback should be provided to learners to enhance the learning experience.

With a lesson plan, teachers can predict which parts of the lesson learners will have difficulty understanding. Teachers can then prepare strategies that help learners learn, build learners’ understanding and respond to learners’ needs. Teachers can explore utilizing different instructional strategies that consider learners’ varying characteristics including cognitive ability, learning style, readiness level, multiple intelligences, gender, socioeconomic background, ethnicity culture, physical ability, personality, special needs, and the different ways learners master the content of a particular learning area. This presupposes flexibility in the way a teacher plans lessons. This means that a teacher can prepare a lesson plan but must remain open to the possibility of adjusting instruction to respond to the needs of learners.

With the implementation of the new K-12 curriculum, schools provide students with an invitation to explore, investigate, learn and collaborate. The learning environment provides ample opportunity for planned student interactions and engagement.

Teachers therefore must use a wide range of stimulating and exciting materials to teach the concepts outlined in the curriculum to ensure that students are actively involved in their learning.

K to12 Teachers Guide (TG) Uploads & MELC Based TG

The aim of the K 12 Teachers Guide  is to help teachers prepare units of work that integrate listening, speaking, reading, writing and learning. Teachers Guide helps teachers to think about important goals of the curriculum, as well as the opportunities that children will need to achieve the goals successfully. K 12 Teachers Guide help teachers to expand their range of teaching techniques. Furthermore, it encourage Department of Education teachers to think about the best conditions for developing literacy.

K 12 Teachers Guide (TG) and Learners Material (LM) are resources used in preparing daily lessons. Additional resources from the Department of Education include materials from the Learning Resources Management and Development System (LRMDS) portal, textbooks, and others supplementary materials, whether digital, multimedia, or online, including those that are teacher-made. However, these materials should be used by teachers as resources, not as the curriculum.

Assessment is a continuous, planned process using various forms of tasks in order to identify, gather and interpret information about the performance of students. It involves the processes of generating and collecting evidence of achievement, evaluating this evidence, recording the findings and using this information to understand and assist in the learner’s development in order to improve the process of learning and teaching. Assessment should be both informal (assessment for learning) and formal (assessment of learning). In both cases regular feedback should be provided to learners to enhance the learning experience.

With a lesson plan, teachers can predict which parts of the lesson learners will have difficulty understanding. Teachers can then prepare strategies that help learners learn, build learners’ understanding and respond to learners’ needs. Teachers can explore utilizing different instructional strategies that consider learners’ varying characteristics including cognitive ability, learning style, readiness level, multiple intelligences, gender, socioeconomic background, ethnicity culture, physical ability, personality, special needs, and the different ways learners master the content of a particular learning area. This presupposes flexibility in the way a teacher plans lessons. This means that a teacher can prepare a lesson plan but must remain open to the possibility of adjusting instruction to respond to the needs of learners.

Creative Writing Curriculum in the Selected Senior High Schools in the Division of Quezon: A Groundwork for a Teaching Guide

The study assessed the level of effectiveness of Creative Writing Curriculum Guide used by teachers of senior high school in the Division of Quezon. Specifically, the study assessed the level of effectiveness of Creative Writing Curriculum Guide in terms of: Content Standard, Performance Standard and Learning Competency. The study used descriptive research design in the presentation of the findings of the study and purposive sampling in the selection of the respondents. There were 30 senior high school teacher-respondents from the selected National Senior High Schools. Although the findings show that the respondent’s assessments on the Creative Writing Curriculum Guide in terms of content standard, performance standards and learning competencies were Moderately Effective, there is still a need for improvement in the performance standards based on the general weighted mean. Purpose of the study: This study aimed to formulate and evaluate the effectiveness of creative writing poetry textbooks with problem-based learning on local wisdom for Indonesian Education Language and Literature students in IKIP PGRI Pontianak and STKIP PGRI Sintang West Kalimantan. Methodology: This study used the quantitative approach of quasi-experimental research by dividing subjects into two groups, treatment and control groups. Main Findings: Expected to be able to fulfill the needs of textbooks in creative poetry writing based on local wisdom in private universities in West Kalimantan. This sex-aggregated descriptive-correlational study assessed the performance of the Middle-Age Filipino ESL Learners (Senior Teacher Education Students enrolled in the course, English for Occupation Purposes at Urdaneta City University,Philippines) in Creative Writing. Purposive selection of the respondents account for balance in sex distribution to allow for fair statistical sex-aggregation analysis of data. The respondents were likewise profiled in terms of age, mother tongue, most preferred reading material in English, linguistic intelligence, and English proficiency. Assesment of their performance in Creative Writing employed the criteria: (a) creativity; (b) coherent structure; and (c) adherence to topic. The study sought to determine the extent of the relationship of creative writing performance and the pre-identified learner-trait variables. A standardized questionnaire was used in data-gathering.The research findings indicate no significant relationship between the sex of the learners and their creative writing performance, in which the ESL learners (18 years old and above) were generally found to have a performance level of “Approaching Proficiency”. This finding cuts across other findings that a large majority of the respondents have a common Mother Tongue (Ilokano: a major language in the Philippines). They also subject to frequent exposure and preference for “fiction” as a reading material in English, and were generally found to have “High Linguistic Intelligence” but only a “Satisfactory” level of English Proficiency. No further significant correlation was found among the other learner-trait variables that associate with the respondents’ Creative Writing Performance. Recommendations were advanced by the researchers from the conclusions of the study, and which explores on the possibility to develop an instructional material in Creative Writing that will assist in further enhancing the relatively low-competence of male and female ESL learners in terms of skills in Creative Writing based on the specific criteria to which they were found to perform at relatively lower levels. The materials should also encourage the employment of tasks and activities that encourage preference for a wider range of reading materials in English in the context of further improving the learners’ English Proficiency.

Science Park Research Organization & Counselling

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of creative writing and creative reading activities on creative reading achievement. In the collection and analysis of the research data, the quantitative method, and accordingly, the pretest-posttest model with a non-equivalent control group was preferred. The study was conducted with fourth graders studying at elementary schools in the Denizli province in the fall term of the 2015-2016 school year. There were 32 participants in total. The data were gathered through the "Creative Reading Process Assessment Scale (CRPAS)" developed by the researchers. The Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient of the scale that consisted of 28 items was 0,88. In the study, a significant difference was revealed between posttest scores of the experimental and control groups, t (30)=8,83, p<0.01. At the end of the procedure, there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of the control group, t(30)= 2,67, p< 0,01, and between the pretest and posttest scores of the experimental group, t(30)= 21,20 P<0,01. According to the results of the study, creative reading and creative writing practices were influential on improving creative reading achievement. The purpose of this study is to evaluate writing materials acquired from creative writing process based on creative drama method from the perspective of the development in writing. In the study, document analysis which is one of the qualitative research methods. The study is performed in Denizli/Central District, during six weeks, on the fifth grade students of a primary school. The sessions are applied for three course hours per week. In evaluating writing materials, “Evaluation Criteria for Creative Writing Form (ECCF)” developed by the researcher is used. In evaluating writing materials, themes of “retiring from taboos” and “unlimitedness” are determined. Related with these themes, codes such as elusion from religious taboos, elusion from social taboos, becoming extraordinary and externalizing freedom are found out. Moreover as a result of the investigation on writing materials of the test group, it is identified that they show positive developments in the field of creative writing.

Daily Lesson Log (DLL) is a template that teachers use to log parts of their daily lessons. The Daily Lesson Log covers a day’s or a week’s worth of lessons.

Daily Lesson Log guidelines for daily lesson preparation was issued by the Department of Education to institutionalize instructional planning which is a critical part of the teaching and learning process in public schools. These guidelines are meant to support teachers in effectively organizing and managing K to 12 classrooms to be genuinely responsive to learners’ needs.

These guidelines in the preparation of K-12 Daily Lesson Log shall instill reflective practice among teachers by providing them opportunities to think about and reflect on their instructional practices. K-12

Daily Lesson Log preparation is part of the teacher’s core function as a facilitator of learning inside the classroom. Well-prepared and well-planned lessons are fundamental to ensuring the delivery of quality teaching and learning in schools.

As a  DepEd guideline, teachers with at least one (1) year of teaching experience, including teachers with private school and higher education institution (HEI) teaching experience, shall not be required to make a Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP). Teachers who have been in the service for at least one (1) year, handling learning areas with available LMs and TGs provided by the Department shall not be required to prepare a DLP. Instead, they shall be required to fill out a  weekly K-12 Daily Lesson Log (DLL). Teachers are allowed to work together in preparing DLLs. Seasoned or veteran teachers shall also mentor new or novice teachers in the preparation of DLLs.
