Assignments are a tool in Gimkit where you may assign students in a class a Gimkit with a certain mode to practice a Kit or subject. Over the summer of 2022, assignments were rebuilt to include 2D gamemodes, which you can read about in this blog post by Gimkit.
As of November 2023, there are 4 gamemodes to play in Assignments, Fishtopia , Cash Tycoon , Farmchain , and Don't Look Down . Cash Tycoon is only available in assignments. Before the redoing, assignments were available with all non-2D gamemodes (with the exclusion of Trust No One ). In each assignment, you have a goal, such as collect a certain amount of cash. You can also now earn XP from assignments.

I would love that once the due date for an assignment has passed that as a teacher I could see the number of questions they have answered correct/incorrect, even if they didn’t complete the assignment/reach the goal.

I first launched assignments two years ago because students were begging their teachers to assign Gimkit as homework. Now with distance learning, assignments play a much more central role in the way many of you use Gimkit.

We rebuilt assignments from the ground up so they work with 2D game modes. This post covers what's new! What's changing? Until now, assignments could only be played with Gimkit Classic. When we built the original version of assignments back in early 2018, we didn't have any 2D game modes. Heck, w

On July 12th, we will fully delete all assignments on Gimkit, making way for the new version which will come out shortly after. Your kits and all other content will remain exactly intact. Complete an assignment. There are two ways for students to complete an Assignment in Gimkit: Cash and question goals are set up for each assignment when an assignment is created after the kit and mode are selected. They cannot be changed later. If an assignment has both a cash and question goal, the assignment will complete after one is completed.
Please change so that students can still do assignment after the due date. Our district allows late work until 1 week before the end of the quarter.
Students can complete assignment tasks as groups. I have set up my recent science test revision task for my students and challenged them to get the highest score possible within 100 correct answeres. I have given them access to 4 different questions sets for all 4 games. Students love working together as a group to achieve a high score. Assignment progress Assignments are designed to save automatically so your students don't have to worry about saving progress as they go. We save assignment progress every minute, so students who close an assignment, or leave and come back, should get dropped into where they were before.
Updating assignment options is no longer allowed. Our old version of assignments had students playing Classic Gimkit, and they had to reach a cash goal to complete the assignment. You used to be able to modify that cash goal after the assignment was created. Now, you cannot change any options after the assignment is created.
