How to turn in an assignment
To turn in an assignment:
Navigate to the desired class team, then select Assignments . You can also use your search bar to search for an assignment by keyword.
Tip : Select the Expansion icon (diagonal, double sided arrow) to work in full-screen mode.
If your educator specified a document for you to turn in, or if you have other files to attach to this assignment, select +Add work and upload your file. You can attach up to 10 resources to an assignment. 500mb is the maximum file size for a resource.
Tip : Work on Office files associated with this assignment right from here—no need to leave the app. Older files with .doc, .xls, and .ppt file extensions can only be edited in the desktop versions of those apps. You can copy content into a new file created in Teams to edit them again.
Select Turn in to submit an assignment before its deadline. This button will change depending on the status:
Turn in for group if you're working on a group assignment. Only one member of the group needs to turn in the assignment.
Turn in again if you’re editing an assignment you’ve already turned in and need to submit work again.
Turn in late if you’re turning in your assignment after the due date, but your educator has allowed late turn-ins or asked for a revision.
Not turned in if the assignment is past due and your educator is no longer accepting turn-ins. You cannot turn in work.
Undo turn in if you decide you want to edit your assignment before the due date. You'll need to turn it in again after you make your edits.
After submitting your assignments, track your progress in the Grades tab to review points earned and educator feedback.

Dear hshshsshsh,
Good day. Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community, and we are happy to help you.
As per your description, you want to know whether your teacher can see your changes to the submitted Word.
If you edit a Word assignment after turning it in on Teams, the teacher will be able to see the edited version. However, the teacher may not receive a notification for the edit, so it's best to communicate with him directly if you make any changes to your submitted assignment. We have the specific function called Turn in again, it provides you turn in again if you make changes.
Let me know if you have any questions. Have a nice day!

Yes, I handed in an assignment by the due date but It is not as good as I would want. so as long as my teacher hasn't looked at my work yet or marked it can i edit it and get away with her marking my better work?
Or will she get notification or something that I edited this and that. or just That I edited but she doesn't what or how long.
so I guess long question short.
What does my teacher know about me editing the doc. If she has not looked at it yet?

Thank you for posting back.
Based on the official document, your teacher can see the lates version of the assignment. we have a feature called Turn in again, this is means that you can turn in it again if you want to make some change in the due date. I’m not sure whether your teacher can see the old version and if she can receive the notification. So, it's best to communicate with her directly.

For some reason, students can continue to edit their document, even though it has been tuned in. I cannot see any of these new changes after it has been turned in. Once I return the document, any of their changes or updates will disappear and the document will revert back to the turned in version. Why can a student continue to edit the document after it has been turned in? Why does it not default to a read-only file until it is returned? Is there a setting feature I can change so a student cannot edit a document once it has been turned in?
Dear Matt3232,
Thank you for your sharing and attention.
Based on the official document, teachers only can see the latest version of the document, and your students can edit their work before you return their work. At present, there is no built-in setting can stop student edit their document, and you set Returned or Returned for revision to determine whether your students can resubmit assignments when they return.
Thank you for your contribution and patience.

It'll just be flagged as being turned in late when the professor views the assignment. Message the professor to let them know, as they don't get alerts to say work has been turned in, so they may not notice unless they actively go back and check.
Undoing and turning in again will change the date to whatever the most recent turn in was, which means it will make you late if it's after the due date. My recommendation for assignments is that if you've got something, like a word document for an assignment, that you always create and access that version if the document through the assignment ...
Yes I informed my teacher what happened but I don't think he entertains questions about submissions not turned in. I made sure I turned in my work since I was checking my work after I was finished and it was stated on the upper right corner "turn in again" which means I definitely turned in once on the assignment because of the word "again".
