World Animal Day is an international day of action for animal rights and welfare celebrated annually on October 4, the feast day of Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.We are going to celebrate it on October 8

what is world animal day

To raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe. Building the celebration of World Animal Day unites the animal welfare movement, mobilising it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals. It's celebrated in different ways in every country, irrespective of nationality, religion, faith or political ideology. Through increased awareness and education we can create a world where animals are always recognised as sentient beings and full regard is always paid to their welfare.

Think what you can do and Make your own pledge or a picture or a photo of your favourite animal or your pet for world animal day and put it on the board in foyer

we are going to support a local animal charity by collecting pet food, toys, accessories, towels and blanketsThe collection takes place from 4th October till 15th October in the foyer

La Fauna is a Krakow based animal charity whose aim is to rescue animals (mostly dogs and cats) from harsh environment and to make sure that each animal is treated with dignity and provided with all the necessary care. It fosters them, provides them with veterinary care and gets them adopted. It also educates people about animal welfare and supports responsible adoptions.

Many of the best known supermarket pet food brands are really low quality, with low meat content and many unhealthy ingredients such as sugar and artificial flavours.
It`s better to buy less good quality food than a lot of junk food.
Good quality food helps sick animals get better and stronger soon and healthy animals stay healthy for longer.
Good cat food should be grain free as cats can`t digest grain.
There is a list of reccomended food brands including the ones you can also buy in supermarkets.
