Human trafficking is a critical issue in Bangladesh, where thousands of people, particularly women and children, are trafficked each year for forced labor and sexual exploitation.

Human trafficking is envisaged as modern slavery and, as a form of organized crime, it has been an unending human security concern in modern human civilization.1 The South Asian region is a vast source of human trafficking in general while Bangladesh, though a small country, constitutes an enormous share of trafficking victims in the region.

The human trafficking deterrence and suppression act 2012: This law is the first law in Bangladesh on the prevention of trafficking and also labor trafficking. This law has the provision to ensure the accountability of the government and the vested organization that work on this issue.

The major purpose of this paper is to analyze present state and process of trafficking, network relations among the traffickers and the causes of trafficking and its impact in a patriarchal social system like Bangladesh where the women are victims of feminization of poverty and marital dissolution in terms of desertion, separation and divorce and how to get rid of this curse.
