The Toussaint Prison Experiment quest breaking bug
The Toussaint Prison Experiment quest breaking bug I have encountered a game breaking bug during the quest: THE TOUSSAINT PRISON EXPERIMENT of the Blood and Wine DLC that does not allow me to loot the final chest to finish the mission. The chest also does not glow when I am using the witcher senses. Please help and thanks for your time.
You may want to report the issue to the Reds at Support as that is the only sure fire way to know they have heard about the issue. I would suggest sending your save file as well following the steps listed here: Sending PS4 Save Files with Bug Reports

Walkthrough [ ]
Upon arriving in the ruins of the prison , a mysterious hooded figure stands still in the middle of the area. Approaching the figure will reveal it to be a pretty powerful alp . Combinations of Yrden , moon dust , and Black Blood will prove useful in fighting the monster.
After disposing of her search the nearby corpse to find an old key and clerk's diary , read it and then search for the small chest, which is located east from the marker behind a wall. Unlock it to complete the quest; reading the work order inside is optional.
Note: The first diagram from Scavenger Hunt: Grandmaster Manticore Gear is nearby as well.

- Read the journal.
- Find the treasure.
- Next to the treasure chest one can also find librarian's memoirs , and nearby around the prison are also convict's notes and notes of a death-row convict . These notes are actually coded as fluff related to the Manticore diagrams hunt, but make more sense as part of this quest.
- The name is in reference to the Stanford prison experiment , a well known experiment that was meant to study the effects of perceived power between prisoners and prison guards but was called off after just 6 days due to the abuse that went on.
- The experiment describes Bastøy Prison outside Oslo, Norway.
- Sometimes the quest will not complete upon opening the small chest at the end and looting its contents. The only known solution for this is to reload a save file prior to opening it, and repeating the process.

| At the Bastoy Prison Ruins in (#1), you'll encounter a level 42 alp. Alps are vampires, so be sure to use Vampire Oil and Superior Black Blood to make the battle easier. Afterwards, you'll find the corpse of a woman in the middle of the ruins. She'll have a Clerk's Diary and an Old Key in her possession. Reading the diary will trigger the quest. The diary will indicate that there's a locked chest full of crowns somewhere in the ruins. You'll find the chest on the eastern side. It'll be a small chest right next to a large chest, so if you turn on your witcher senses, then it shouldn't be too difficult to spot. Inside the chest, you'll find around 400 crowns, some crafting supplies, and the diagrams for and . Looting the chest will complete the quest. |

[Treasure Hunt][B&W] Prison Experiment - Bug/Unable to complete
One of the other sidequests led me to the site where this treasure hunt is triggered. I was easily able to find the quest items related to the quest, and stumbled upon the location of the hidden treasure while my quest tracker was still set to the original sidequest.
Now, I am finished with every single sidequest/witcher contract/treasure hunt in B&W, and ready to begin the main questline. Except...for the prison treasure hunt....
I've Googled the location, and verified by video. The necessary quest items are in my inventory. The chest containing the treasure, however, is not glowing and I can't interact with it. Not surprising, considering I'd emptied its contents many hours ago. Very disappointed...
Anybody experience this / have any suggestsions- other than reload? ....not above using a console cheat for this one, if it won't affect my achievements.

I honestly think it's a bug. Similar thing happened to me replayed some parts and when I opened the small red chest, the quest completed.

Saying that, I had a crossbow bug in a different quest in both of those plays that I've only seen a couple of people mention. May be one of those occasional bugs that is hard to track down. I started to upgrade the vineyard and got the first upgrades without any problems.
