Unshackled Terror

Badge icon for this ending.

Reality's executioner, now liberated.

Unshackled terror is an ending added in the V8 update. The locations you travel to in this ending show off the new "Deep Labs" area of the game. The Deep labs contain a new minigame, a new upgradeable key-like item, and of course, having to traverse through multiple new areas to progress further into the game. Upon completing this ending, the player will be given a white-to-red-to-black outfit.

Obtaining [ ]

Contacting Dr. J.B.

First off, just play through the game normally until you receive an email from Doctor J.B (This happens after pulling the power lever in Containment B). This email will contain a contact code for use at the terminal, written in X-0000 format (X=random number, 0000=4-digit sequence). Doctor J.B Will then inform you that in order to escape, you must travel to the Deep Labs. The page for the Into The Depths badge will tell you how to unlock it. After opening the gate to the deep labs, you should have the ability to traverse to 7 new areas from both the event controller and the panel.

One of the new areas you can traverse to is the Storage Zone . Here, there will be a Giant door labelled "Service Zone". This Door is unlocked by completing the new Defuse minigame at least once on the server.

After unlocking the Service Zone door, your next focus should be the Flashkey . This is a new key-like item found in office 1D at New Office Complex 1 , and is used to unlock most doors in the deep labs. However, It will require different colors of access chips to actually unlock anything. For this ending, you will need the access chips of the colors Red, Pink, Green, Cyan, and White. Instructions on how to get these chips are on the Flashkey Page.

With your fully-upgraded flashkey, Now you should head to the Security Room. in front of you there will be a pink-locked door, inside this door is a room containing a powered off machine, that has a slot for an energy container. To get the code for this Energy container, you must go to the Service Shaft . Somewhere in the service shaft is a red-locked door that has another powered off screen inside it. To turn it on, you must find and insert 3 energy pod thingies found throughout the service shaft into the 3-slotted mechanism. When the screen turns on, it will show you the energy container color code you need to turn on the screen in the Security room.

Taking the correct energy container back to the security room and inserting it into the slot will turn the screen on, but it will say that the power routing is incorrect. To fix this, you must go back to the Storage Zone to correct the power routing. On the cyan-locked door to the right behind the "Service Zone" door, there is YET ANOTHER deactivated screen. This one requires BatteryD in order to be turned on. While you would have needed the dark yellow disk found in the service shaft in order to unlock the crafting recipe for the BatteryD in Laboratory 2 , the machine will still let you craft the BatteryD as long as you have the right materials (5 scrap, 12 circuits, 3 crystals *Crystals are found in the abyss tunnels, located in the service tunnels after being caught by The Collector), and are hovering over where the recipe would have been listed (to the right of BatteryC), rendering the yellow disk unnecessary to obtain. (This is most likely unintentional, and may be changed in a later update.)

With the BatteryD in hand, go back to the Storage Zone and insert the battery into its slot. The screen will then light up and show which power levers in the storage zone you must turn on or off, in order to have the correct power routing for the security room. However, all the power switches in the storage zone will already be in the correct state that they need to be in. After inserting the BatteryD, just go and flip one lever on and off or off and on to get the correct power routing. (Once again, this is most likely unintentional and may be changed in a later update.)

Finally once you are done with that step, head back to the security room. If the power routing is correct, the big screen should then say that you are now granted access to the Mainframe.

For your last step, you must head to the mainframe and open the single, white-locked door that is in front of you. Meet Dr J.B to get your badge and ending.
