The population of Jaipur according to the 2022 census was 7,107,000 an increase of about 2.47 per cent from 2021. It is the tenth most populous city in India. Jaipur is located in the east-central part of Rajasthan equidistant from Alwar and Ajmer. Also, it is the most populous city in Rajasthan. In addition, it also bears the importance of being the first planned city in India This city was planned by Vidyadhar Bhattacharya and thus it holds the distinction of being the first planned city of Inida.
Jaipur has arid and hot weather which prevails from the month of March to May which is referred to as the summer season. During the month of December till February, the temperatures are very low and are referred to as the winter season. Whereas the month of October and November are transit months between the winter and the monsoon. Thus the best time to visit Jaipur is during the months of November to January. The remarkable tourist spots in Jaipur are Amber Fort and Palace, Hawa Mahal, Sisodia Rani Garden, Jaigarh Fort, Jantar Mantar Observatory, Abhaneri stepwell, and Rambagh Palace to name a few. The Jaipur Tourism Industry has contributed largely towards the development of the city. In addition, a large number of foreign exchange is earned by the tourism industry owing to the visit of international tourists. The government and the city municipality have restored the national heritage to captivate more and more tourists.
Jaipur is also one of the most significant economically vibrant cities. The key strengths of the country are local handicraft industries, the trade and commerce industry and the tourism industry. Thus they are regarded as the assets of the economic profile of the city. The industrial sector is also one of the most important sectors of the city. To encourage the industrial development of the city, the government has taken initiatives to develop the industrial areas of Jhotwara, Vishwakarma, Hirawala Ext and Kolana.
Jaipur is famous all over the world for its remarkable arts and crafts. The city offers exquisite jewellery, lacquer items, puppets and quilts. Moreover, Jaipur is also famous for its folk dance and music. The traditional dance form of the city is Ghoomar or Ghumar and the Mand Folk Music is the most popular form of folk music that has gained success from the people. The local language of Jaipur is Dhundhadi, whereas some people speak English and Hindi as well. The majority of the people belong to the Sanatan Dharma or Hinduism. People together celebrate festivals such as Makar Sankranti, Diwali, Dusshera, Ganesh Chaturthi and others. Regards food, the cuisine of Jaipur marks the royalty of the city. Across the world, the Rajasthani thalis are very famous comprising of Mawa Kachori, dal Bati churma, Besan ka Gatta, bazre ki roti to name a few.
In conclusion, it can be said that Jaipur is the most embellished and the most beautiful city in India. Also, having a large number of tourist places such as Amber Fort and Palace, Hawa Mahal, Sisodia Rani Garden and a lot more, it attracts a large number of tourists across the world. The place is also famous for its cuisines, dance, music and arts and crafts.
